Our Van Tales

We'd heard that Portugal may not be that easy for FREE park-ups anymore...How wrong!

We've found this beautiful country to be SO welcoming for vanlife with endless FREE spots to camp and countless provisions for gaining free water and waste disposal along the way...

In this weeks vlog, we take our campervan from Spain to Portugal and get off to a flying start with the ease of locating some of the best spots to wild camp, in some of the most beautiful scenary that we have ever experienced.

The warm welcome of the Portuguese locals continues to blow us away as we explore more of this fantastic land.

I spent some time reviewing your channel, and it’s clear that you’ve developed a strong sense of direction in your content.
That said, it also appears you might be experiencing a plateau where growth isn’t aligning with your level of effort. This tends to be one of the more challenging phases for creators.
It’s often not about working harder, but understanding what’s quietly limiting visibility.
I noticed a few patterns that may be contributing to this. If you’re open to it, I’d be glad to walk you through them.

Hi guys, I was in in Luz (pronounced Loosh) in 2014 in my little camper. It really had an affect on me. The way they had tried to recreate the village and the sadness of the inhabitants. Fascinating. I am loving going through Portugal with you. I have been many times in various vehicles. It’s my favourite country. ❤

Usually when things don't quite turn out as promised the assumption is greed or corruption. In reality it is usually just plain incompetence. They got their plans wrong. Incompetence is a massive driving force that's so ignored

Hi guys, very sad to see a village flooded like that, for no obvious reason. Like one of the reservoirs in Wales, when the water is low, you can see the top of the church spire 👍🐸

We spent a couple weeks on the south west coast outside Faro. You could park any where and people were just the best

What a great area of Portugal. :) Thanks for sharing the story of the the lost village too. My list of places to visit grows weekly. I'm taking early retirement in 2028 and I can't wait to van up and get out there.

Enjoy guys. Portugal is an amazing country. My husband and I did van life for 6 months in 2024 and 3-4 months in 2025 between Spain and Portugal. There are many bueatiful areas in Portugal, we love west coast. We did not managed to see much in north of Portugal yet. That is still on our list. Unfortunately this year we will not be able to do it, we sold our van and still have not purchased a replacement, so I am gathed. Wishing you unforgettable adventures 😊
