I'm an actor who just transitioned to haunt acting about 2 years ago. It is way more difficult than people think. It's totally different from any other style of acting. I'm taking a class from him on the 3rd of next month and I can't wait!
Thank you for the kind words, an exercise like this cant fit well on a hand out-being able to see it over and over will help actor trainers to get the instructions down.
I wish I was able to attend this seminar! I hope you will show us more tidbits from this class. University would have been much more enjoyable all those years ago, if Allan Hopps was the Professor!
Found this scrolling through your videos. Excellent teacher you are. I found this to easily understandable and also teachable. Although it for acting and playing a role as a haunt, this can be applied on the whole other side of it. As i watched this, I found out using my imagination of your string theory, I can improve my confidence when I walk in to a room. I do not have self confidence issues, but do have the ups and downs like everyone else. Imagine the lives you could touch if you taught this in schools or adolescent centers for troubled youths. Cloaking the lesson as a haunt instruction but ending the lesson by showing the students how quickly and easily they can change their confidence subconsciously by changing their postures to be one other than what and who they believe themselves to be. Approaching people that may have lost their way in this way, allows you into a personal space. You would also be a great hypnotist.
This is a great and easy excercise for veteran and rookie actors. I also like the counting excercise that helps build on teamwork. Hopps' videos are great tools for haunts and their actors!
@tylerpas Sure give it a shot, I use my dyson to vacuum the latex into the fabric. And I have a plaster head cast made just for the bags (it cant have shoulders). let me know how it turns out!
