I'd love to see Allen revisit this since it's now 11 years old and I'm sure he's probably learned how to make them with pool noodles or something lol

Also, in the interest of saving time doing each one there's no reason to make yellow corn and wrap it in husks if you're doing green stalks. You'd get just as much effect putting your tassel material at the top of the bottle and painting it green since corn doesn't really ever open like that while still on the stalk.

Gentleman, I give you.....CORN!

@10:26 They actually -don't- grow in pairs. While each subsequent leaf does grow out the opposite side they're staggered as they go up the stalk. And the corn should be placed just above one leaf and bent up so it lays along the stalk. I get that the idea is to make a field of them so they don't need to be photo-real, but I think it would help to not have so much dead space at regular intervals.

You are The MacGyver of Halloween prop building.

Thank you so much for this, I've been trying to find the easiest and cheapest way to make a bunch of corn stalks for our maze. This was very helpful 👍🏽

yes, but illegal. The fire Marshal also frowns upon having to many actual dried plants in your haunt.

Just took Alan's class at Transworld in St. Louis. He is the man!

Could you wrap your wife's old fishnet stockings around the yellow bottle for the fake kernels. Or spray the bottle black/brown wrap the stockings around the bottle and spray yellow then take the stocking off for another effect! Will also be ideal for a snake/reptile skin!
Here in UK... SCREWFIX have 8ft bartol pipe 1/2" for under 80p each!!
BRILLIANT VIDEO... BIG THUMBS UP👍😉👍

Just so you know me and my husband sat and watch and we love your commentary. You are so funny and have such a good time and make learning all these new techniques seem so much fun. Thanks again

Man I love your videos!  You teach well and are funny as hell:)

I was put in charge of corn plants for Wizard of Oz at a Community Theatre and used your video as inspiration...thanks a bunch! I used small bubble wrap for the corn (over plastic bottles) when its sprayed yellow it really looks like its covered in corn kernals and is super quick...just thought you might like to try it...I'm all about recycling too!

I am so glad there are people like yourself on youtube, such a wealth of knowledge...Thanks Allen

hand testing habit. lol Great job on the stalks. I finally got my first corpse done. Have strategically placed around the house to test the scarability. Worked Wonderful!!!! Got cussed out multiple times. Thanks for all the tuts.

No...Your brilliance of keeping things on the cheep.

Freaky I watched Children of the Corn last night and today you show me how to make stalks.  It must be a sign!

Yes! I was hoping to see something like this from you. All the other fake corn stalk tutorials have left me wanting.

Like the idea of the black silhouette stalks.

Very well done. Probably more detail and labor intensive than I need, but you are a very creative prop maker. Kudos.

This is awesome! I think this would for sure save a lot of cash for my haunt!
