"Maybe I'm looking into it too much..."
Words of Swifties everywhere

Also Taylor sitting at the kids table at the wedding could be a reference to her and Jake’s age difference and him seeing her as too young for him being one of the reasons that their relationship didn’t work out - “You said if we had been closer in age, maybe it would’ve been fine. And that made me want to die”!

My favourite detail in this music video is the pocket square in miles tellers pocket at the beginning of the video is white 0:31 but at the end it is red 19:58.

The symbolism that jumps right out at me that nobody seems to pick up on is at the very beginning.  That opening shot with Miles and the window behind him has the effect of a halo like Saints were painted with during the Renaissance.  To me it means that the character is seen as a Saint (or sees himself that way).
The beauty of Taylor's lyrics and visuals is that everyone can get something different depending on their personal perspective.

When Taylor dragged this out of the vault, she got Chris Stapleton to work on it.  On the Howard Stern Show, he said the call came out of the blue in the pandemic;  everything was shut down, no one was working, everything closed.  He was astonished, and grateful;  recorded his tracks, and sent them to her.   As far as it being very excessively country ----- she started with Gyllenhaal about the time Speak Now broke a million copies in its release week (Oct. 2010).  He didn't listen to her music, or country;  and skipped her 21st Bday to go to a Mumford and Sons concert.  They were all done by Christmas.    So, imo, she made this very very country primarily to get under Jake's skin.

She was 22 the year she recorded Red;  the deluxe version had 22 tracks.  So, with WANEBGT, Red, ATW, and The Moment I Knew,   she'd pretty much covered everything.   This is "I'm over it"  gloating, which she also did in WANEGBT.    Glad she included it though.  I love her humor when she decides pettiness is called for.

6:47 the 26 on the cake is a reference to I Bet You Think About Me being the 26th track on Red (Taylor's Version)

fun fact: the bride is actually Miles’ wifi, Keleigh. they are both very good friends with Taylor. they are also very good friends with… Travis Kelce. they’re rumored to be the ones who pushed Taylor to reach out to Travis.

Taylor got a lot of criticism for her "raised on a farm, it wasn't a mansion" line and the mention of "kitchen table bills." People argue that growing up on a Christmas tree farm with her dad working in finance didn’t exactly make her “poor.” But I think what a lot of people miss is that Jake comes from Old Hollywood money, which is a completely different level of wealth.

To people at that level, someone from the upper middle class—like Taylor, or even someone others might call "rich"—can still seem “poor.” I relate to this so much. I thought I grew up privileged—nice neighborhood, lots of travel—but in my 20s, I dated a wealthy guy, and wow, it was a rude awakening. His family made me feel so inadequate, like I wasn’t “good enough.” That world is so exclusive, and even someone who’s a lower-tier millionaire can feel like they don’t measure up.

And honestly, upper-middle-class families, especially ones that run a business, definitely had "kitchen table bills" in the 90s and early 2000s. Maybe not as much now with everything online, but back then, it was common

We are SO back!!!

the shoes were a reference to one of her lyrics i think “he didn’t like it when i wore high heels but i do” from begin again

That cake had so much going on! The bottom 1st layer was decorated with  the seagulls from the 1989 album cover, the 2nd layer with the Red logo she had made durring the re-release and wore on rings, the 4th layer that she destroyed showed red velvet, and at the end credits she also made a = in the icing, which was an easter egg for the collaboration with Ed Sheeran on his album = (equals) that was released soon after thos video. The top layer had her fav number 13, and the number 26. This songs was the 26th track on Red Taylor's Version.

3:13 In all the many, MANY times I've watched this I have never, EVER seen the split second change in the reflection from Miles to Taylor (all in Red) back to Miles again. btw I spotted that (and commented here) before you went back to deep dive it. Bravo !!I just love this video.

The 5 is about Taylor's legendary track 5 on every album being usually her most vulnerable or sad song and All Too Well, from this album, RED, was the track 5! Great catches and giving us cool things we never noticed before! Missed your face😉

One of my favourite things about this video is that (at least in Denmark) traditionally,, wearing red at a wedding means you’re the grooms misstres 👀

YES!! We need more Taylor Swift content on this channel!!

when you asked about the thing in her hand that you thought was a heart that she was popping on a cocktail stick....that was a cherry...she was popping the cherry...

there's also a lot of alice in wonderland imagery used in this video

I love listening to people break down Taylor and her friend's directing work.

YAYYY IM SO EXCITED TO HAVE THESE VIDEOS BACK!

This is my favorite music video of all time and also one of my all time favorite songs of hers. The attention to detail in this video is insane. I'm sure other people have talked about this, but something I think was a diabilocal choice in this (and there were many) was the obviously very deliberate color choices made in costuming. I'm sure we can all tell that we're being shown his perspective and perception of things in a pretty abstract way - but even in this imaginary wedding in his own mind, his own wife doesnt stick out from the crowd. She blends into everything and everyone around her. ESPECIALLY compared to Taylor, who's bright and obvious and unmissable. The bride could be anyone, it wouldn't matter. He's marrying her because it's just what you do (further proof of this is his pathetically impersonal vows in the beginning).

But then, Taylor steps out in her white dress, spotlit. She does stand out somewhat but she's also noticeably different from her earlier, playful personas. She's silent and a bit unsure. As soon  as she turns away her entire demeanor changes - she's confident, loud, bold again. I think this demonstrates that he also saw her as just any girl when they were together, that he never truly knew her entirely.

Of course, thats just my take on it, but I feel like I could write a book on this whole video. I love it so much and I notice something new every time I watch it.

I love petty Taylor! 😆😅 Also, wearing red to somebody's wedding means you've slept with or had relations with the groom in the past (or most likely had relations with either od the wedding couple)
