On August 9, 1995, Aviateca Flight 901 was approaching El Salvador International Airport with 65 people on board. A storm forced the crew to deviate from their usual route. Minutes later, the Boeing 737-200 crashed into the San Vicente volcano. In this documentary, we reconstruct its final moments using communications with the control tower and examine the chain of decisions and circumstances that ended in tragedy.

The flight data recorder was never recovered. Without it, it was impossible to establish with complete accuracy the plane's final trajectory or clear up all the doubts about what happened that night. This video also commemorates the 58 passengers and 7 crew members who lost their lives in the worst air disaster to ever occur in El Salvador.
