The most important lesson we learn is that it is impossible to get a bad sound out of a Precision.

I`d take the Player for 900 less. I`ve had vintage Fenders with that stupid truss adjustment and I am done. Since I`m now old I just record at home with short scale (light) basses and I have better sound than ever. Nice job on that sir.

Thank you!

I love my player II jazz bass

Id get tge Plyaer and put Hipshot tuners on it, and a set of D'Addario Chromes on it, and I'd be happy.

Thnx Bob for your review.

Ensenada,Mexico

I’m a fan of that raw top end you get on the Players, helps flatwound strings have some character in the mix. Can always turn tone down…

Uk london here...Great playing mate.

Cool dude

I have owned a couple of Pro II basses. There is nothing wrong with them. Great craftmanship. But I sold them. I now have a MM player II with a Lollar pickup and it really is a great bass. My bass is flawless, it plays great and sound amazing.

I recently tried out both models at GC.  I ended up taking the Am Pro II home with me.  It fit my needs.  Nice video.

I'd get the Player ll just because of the headstock truss rod adjustment.

Si Mexico 🇲🇽 MIM

Great video Bob. Just got the cheaper player series and good to know the difference between them. Many thanks.

I played one in GC, and I have to say that I liked the feel of the neck on the Player II. Thank you Bob for the comparison 👍🏻

Yes, Ensenada is in Mexico. It's the location of Fender's factory in that country.
I like to buy USA Fenders on the used market. For me, that gets the most value for the dollar.

Rocking a Revzilla shirt.😊

Lo ve your videos from bass player in Arizona

I went into GC to try a Squier CV Precision with Laurel fingerboard. Finish was beautiful, played nice, but wow was it heavy.  As luck would have it, they also had a Fender Player II in stock, White with a Rosewood Fretboard (love rosewood).  Finish was beautiful, played nice and sounded great.  I don't know what the actual weight was but it felt light. I guess 8 lbs. or less.  Oddly what I didn't like was the neck.  I like a Chunkier neck.  But I could get over that, If I had the $8 Bills I would have taken it home!  I have a Ibanez TMB30 I picked up new in 2017 for $153.  Even has a Rosewood Fretboard.  They use Jatoba now.  I just went through a cleanup on it, new flats, polished frets, oiled the fretboard, all adjustments.  It has serious neck dive, but it's a great little Short Scale. I'd like a long scale, that Player II would do nicely!  Good review and comparison.
