Flats for sure! 🤟

I have this bass. Always liked the simplicity of a P bass. Volume. Tone. Period. The only gripe I have is the finish on the neck is a little sticky at times. But the tone is amazingly pure. Love this bass.

My man!! Sounds Great

Aaaaaaaand this video convinced me to buy this one and some flats. 😎

Good review & nice playing
👍

I have the jazz version in this series (w/ D'Addario flats on it!) and it has been really great. Have recorded it and played gigs with it. In about 5 years now, the only problem I had is with the output jack getting a bit loose which was pretty easily remedied.

Thanks lm loving that bass
But l have too many now 😆

I have this bass too...I just got mine 2 weeks ago, used @  my favorite local guitar shop.
It has Bartolini pickups and an aftermarket bridge with brass saddles...
I also changed my rounds out for D'Addario black Tape-wounds on my new Precision Bass...as I have the same on my Squire 70s Vibe Jazz Bass....Ernie Ball flats on my '97 Fender Jazz

I have the exact same bass.  LOVE IT! It is the only bass I record with, and my primary for gigging (sharing duty with a Yamaha BB when I need a Jazz Bass sound, and my String 2HH fiver).  I run flats on mine with an A string retainer (really tightened up the A string) and a fender high mass bridge.

I just picked one up from a pawnshop. Those flats and your playing sound excellent, I think I'll swap the rounds out I currently have.

I have the same lamp as you

Hey Dylan!  you know I'm a guitarist not a bassist but,  listening to the differences between the round wound and flats played on the same instrument was very cool.  The rounds having a crisp sound.  Whereas, the flats had a smoother, jazzier aspect.  In your opinion, can you describe what musical styles each type of string would be best used in?

Stuck between this and a Sire P5. Will probably go for the Squier based on looks alone, the walnut and black just look so nice. Really good video. Was thinking I could get away with forking out for the flats, but I feel I gotta now.

How do you feel about it in the 2+ years it's been since you've made this video? Have heard fretwear can be an issue.

Awesome review!

Any thoughts after owning the bass for a while? Currently debating between the 70s classic vibe p-bass and the affinity series.

I like the round strings better
