What is THE Captain America moment for you?

I have to give the MCU this - they turned what I consider one of the most boring characters in the comics, into one of my favorite characters in the movies. Between the writing keeping him grounded, and Chris Evans' iconic performance, Cap was the heart of the Avengers for me.

THE HOWLING COMMANDOS ARE SOOO UNDERRATED, IT'S NICE TO SEE THEIR DESCENDANTS SCATTERED IN MODERN DAY MCU.

It's awesome that you call out other creators and teams for catching stuff in footage. Very classy and great form as a channel!

"unless you're a plane or a bomb or some ice or a brainwashed buddy or a spider-man or Tony stark or a version of yourself or just plain Thanos then you don't necessarily have to yield!"

I'm sure it's been explained a million times before, but the one main component on why Schmidt became Red Skull was he didn't provide himself with a shot of penicillin beforehand - the serum therefore also enhanced the bacteria that caused Schmidt's deformity. When Erskine gives a shot to Steve, Steve thinks that's it and says that wasn't so bad...Erskine replies, that was the penicillin.

I think The First Avenger is probably my favorite MCU movie. Great story telling, and pacing, plus I've always loved that era of history.
Thanks for the breakdown!

When I saw this movie, Cap became my favorite hero and led to a full man cave. I am SO HAPPY you broke it down. Thank you

This is still in my top 5 of the MCU films.

My late maternal grandfather served under General Patton’s command during World War II. This is my favorite of the MCU film of the Infinity War/ Endgame saga. The last line of this movie always gets to me “i had a date.” It’s just so heartbreaking and honestly unfair.

One of Hitler's minions 29:29 is played by actor Anatole Taubman, who earlier in Band of Brothers played a prisoner in a Nazi concentration camp. The same actor portraying characters on both ends of this spectrum is an interesting parallel to Dr Erskine's comment that "the first country the Nazi's invaded was their own".

I love your ear for motifs, as many people don't even notice them. As a composer myself, I always look for those from composers as I often use the same motifs across all music I composer. Alan Silvestri tends to use motifs for different moods he's trying to convey, and it's not even specific to specific characters or particular movies. The exact same motifs can be heard in the movies Flight, G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, and Beowulf. I love how his is so signature, you can pretty much identify him as the composer without ever seeing his accreditation in the contents of the movie; such a great composer.

Doug’s comment about getting more red paint was awesome😂

Neal McDonough is also famous for his role in Band of Brothers. Not to mention he voiced Bruce Banner for The Incredible Hulk '90s cartoon!

@47:50 - Howard Stark adds an electrical spark to a Hydra battery and nearly blows the whole laboratory apart.
Tony Stark carefully adds each Infinity Stone to the gauntlet successfully ...before Rocket yells "BOOM!" and jump-scares Tony and Hulk. 😂

I won’t hold my breath but would love if characters like Steve Rogers, Bucky, Fury, Logan, Victor Creed, Namor and the Human Torch exist and have interacted in the Fantastic Four retro future timeline.

I like the callout of Luke losing his hand as the sorted boon, but what he truly gains is the knowledge that Vader is his father, which is the ultimate crux of the trilogy.
