love this sort of video. idc how cringe it sounds, making up stories like these while playing rdr2 especially in the epilogue and roleplaying, is a lot of fun

The Loft is my favorite cabin house. Not only is it remote and peaceful, but it has most of essentials you need, plus a little bit of ammo AND the watchtower which is perfect as a vantage point against bounty hunters when they are closing in on you during free roam.

A bonus positive for this house is if you're someone who enjoys robbing trains, you can always use that cabin as a small pit stop before you go out and set up an ambush on the Ambarino train tracks before it makes it to the tunnels. Then once fully inside, you can stop the train and rob all the passengers and clear out the safes before escaping without a bounty or the law after you.

On my second playthrough, I decided to visit every cabin, shack, and other rectangle on the map. Lots of fun, a few disappointments that either we can't get into or aren't actually there :) Mr White and Mr Black's cabin on stilts will probably always be my favorite home-away-from-gang when playing as Arthur.

I personally have a soft spot for the abandoned trading post. Mostly just for convenience. It's the perfect place to stop and rest when you're riding along the train tracks from the west, and you don't want to set up camp in Murfree territory. I've probably stopped there to sleep and hitch my horse more than any other cabin.
I also find it weirdly cozy, in a ramshackled childhood fort kind of way.

Personally the cabin near O'Creagh's Run takes it for me, best view with the mountains and trees, cozy af and a huge lake out front with a dock

I once tried to see if I could survive a full in-game month outside of civilization (no buying things, restocking ammo, etc) with a few survival based mods installed (can't remember which ones sadly). The Loft was absolutely the best option, as I had given myself a moderate bounty to simulate getting robbed and ambushed by outlaws.

That watchtower was an absolute godsend
