In this Red Dead Redemption 2 adventure, Arthur Morgan escapes the deafening noise and constant chatter of the city to find peace in the silence of the frontier. From the charred ruins of Limpany and the cryptic, creepy graveyard of Pleasance to the freezing, secluded mining cabins of Ewing Basin and Colter, he searches for the ultimate quiet life. Along the way, we’re evaluating every town's remaining buildings, testing usable amenities like working wells and cozy fireplaces, and soaking in the vibes of these forgotten places to see which abandoned town is truly the best place to call home.

I reckon the first time Hosea was in New Hanover back in the 1880’s, Limpany was an operating town. It was likely a resting point for travellers coming from the West Elizabeth way.

As a northener who loves winter but hates mosquitos and heat I would give Lakay -10 out of 10 for liveability. Colter all day long, skis, snowshoes and a campfire in the snow, who can beat that? Rather a snowbath and sauna before bathing in the swamp amongst alligators and leaches.

Honestly, whenever I wanna chill (pun intended) I always just hang around Colter.

It's just so cozy. Just you, the snow, and your thoughts. Plus, the cold is much easier to manage than something like the humid swamp heat of Lakay.

I prefer Colter... I like snow and silence, and the shire is more beautiful. The life is hard.

I think I'd pick Colter. Decent stable, decent buildings, creek nearby for water, smithy attached to the stable. Plus you have a bunch of materials you can scavenge from not just Colter but also from the shacks on top of the mountain to make repairs and improvements. You could also take the barn apart at Sadie's homestead and rebuild it in Colter. HOWEVER my top 2 spots to live would be Hanging Dog Ranch or Chez Porter. Both have excellent buildings and water sources nearby.
