The irony of calling Liquid a Char clone is that his Japanese VA is Banjo Ginga, who also famously plays Gihren

I would consider Solowing Pixy from Ace Combat Zero as a Char clone

I know he's a protagonist But i feel Lelouch Vi Brittania from Code Geass is basically Char Aznable in many ways.but then again CG was created by the same people who made Gundam Wing.

One of the big issues with calling a lot of characters Char Clones is that they aren't normally based on Char, they're based on one of the inspirations for Char, the Red Baron...

You touched on Big O, Gaogaigar, Mega Man X, Mega Man AND Megas XLR ALL in one vid? Dude, top notch!

A Megas XLR reference? 10/10

I don’t know if I’d call Reinhardt from LotGH a Char clone. This was based on the original book series, which originally released in 1982; and from doing more research, the author started working on the series in 1978; which was before Gundam. I’d say he slightly resembles Char, but not necessarily inspired by him

Didn’t expect Evil Coop to be called a Char clone but hey you learn something new everyday

Zero really does feel a lot like Quattro. Especially in the Mega Man Zero games, where he helps the resistance against Neo Arcadia.

You missed Fate Testarossa from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha. Not only is she one of the rare female Char clones, she is also a pretty good one. She was the series' first villain, Her barrier jacket is mostly black, but has red trim, she is a close combat specialist, and she's probably the fastest thing in the entire series, like keeping up with instant teleportation fast.

I watched the original LOTGH OVA over the course of a month and it easily became my favorite anime of all time. Pretty much the entire main cast across both sides are so well characterized I was so torn whenever they clashed in battle or plotted against each other. I keep putting off watching the gaiden series because I know that there's not anymore after that besides going through it again through the remake, books, or manga.

I would put forward that Camus/Zeke/Sirius from Fire Emblem is a Char Clone since he's a highly respected leader of the opposition military, he wields the super specially designed spear Gradivus, he goes through long periods wearing a mask, and is the "That One Boss" for Marth and his army. Though he's closer to Zechs Marquis than Char Aznable since he fully embraces his more heroic persona following his defeat in the original Fire Emblem and he does find love after his first love interest marries another between games.

Say what you will about Cato Sicarius (Which will likely be true) the dude Canonically immediately tried to have Leandros executed after he got Titus taken away by the Inquisition, like called the guy a traitor to the chapter and everything. Therefore he gets a few, not many, but a few points for actually being a bro

16:13 [Talks about FF8]
[Shows his rating for Protoman]

A deeper burn I’ve never heard in my life

I think Ramsus is more of the Char in Xenogears, even if he's out here with more of a Hyaku Shiki

I would consider Mr. A from Screamer 2026 as a Char clone with a bit of Palpatine in him

I mean, 40k generally doesn't kill named characters with a miniature outside of horus heresy. Kinda like how comics often have no characters stay dead but only demons can get ressurected.

11:09 he truly does live in a world of madness.

1:31 - 1:41 Not just that, Mike also made a ttrpg (Closer to war game/ board game roots in the beginning) called "Mekton" a little after the time of the original japanese run of Mobile Suit Gundam. It is a very crunchy system that is Gundam in all but name.... until about 2000ish where his company made a Gundam TTRPG based on the then current edition of Mekton with very notable changes exclusive to Japan. Sadly we never got an official english translation of that Gundam TTRPG here in the west, but Mekton has it's own fan community that I have yet to join.

I bring this up as my friend got me into the Gundam Franchise about a year ago, who also wants to be a player in a Mekton Zeta Campaign. I volunteered to be the DM and learn the system after current campaigns wrap up. I know my campaign will be something of a blend of IBO going into AW:GX, picking up on the ground on Earth just after the initial collisions of the colony drops end, with the Players basically being soldiers on the ground that survived, and having to make sense of the broken chaotic world, and trying to survive it.
