This was canon in my mind as a kid

I remember rewatching this video over and over again when I was a kid. I can still distinctly remember the five star rating I gave it.

“Sixteen years ago” under it will never not be a terrifying prospect.

This video was what I genuinley thought the time war was back when I first started watching the show! Didn’t realise it was fan made

The fact that the video's aspect ratio is 4:3 and the quality only can go up to 480p make this video feel more authentic because if Doctor Who still went on during the Wilderness Years, the TV quality would have been like that in the late '90 and early 2000s!

A great, albeit unintended touch Stuart!

I'm so glad that Paul McGann returned in The Night of The Doctor.

Terrifying that this video was such an iconic part of my childhood and now it's 12 years old

I overlaid the image of a Dalek onto the clip of 'Arc Of Inifinity' to cover over Peter Davison, who is actually running for cover at the end of the corridor. It's only a static photo of a Dalek, which I moved frame-by-frame in adobe photoshop to give the illusion it is gliding out of view.

I will say that I still kind of prefer this than what we actually got in The Day of the Doctor. It feels more like a War to me & I kind of like the simplicity of The 8th Doctor losing his life to a simple Dalek blast

I am still disappointed that we didn't get something like this for the Doctor Who movie. Just think how many more episodes we could have gotten if this was Paul McGann's version of the Doctor Who movie. Shame he only got a half assed story that is largely forgotten and not well received. McGann deserved better for the on screen product.

If Eccleston stuck around, he easily would have been a top 5 doctor. Same with McGann if he was given a proper series.

For me, this video is the canon version of the Time War.

I have to say, Youtube is a wonderful thing. I've just spent a little while investigating the "insight" function which analysies the video views for this trailer, and I was pleasantly shocked to see visitors from as far afield as Peru, South Korea, Lithuania and Macedonia have all passed by this video. Everyone's welcome, whichever part of the planet you come from. I just wanted to say hello and let you know how pleased I am that my work is so global :)

I've heard people say that the Time War is so epic that it could never be shown on screen. But you've come PRETTY DAMN CLOSE. Absolutely beautiful.

I read a comment from a fan not long ago that the Time War is a story that should never be told because it would never live up to anyone's expectations.  I think there's truth to that.  However, what I have seen here is TRULY inspiring.  You excel in your form of expression, and inasmuch as I excel in mine, I hope to write this story as well as you've helped me to visualize it.  THANK you!

By far the best Time War tribute

Nov. 25, 2008? Wow, this video was before Matt Smith had even been notified to be playing the 11th Doctor!

It's best when it opens with the "Time Lords of Gallifrey led a life of peace, and ordered calm..." speech.  Puts it in perspective for those who might never have heard of/watched Doctor Who.

God Bless you for this video. As a small child I first encountered Doctor Who on SciFi channel ("Are you My Mummy?") and I went to YouTube looking up Doctor Who stuff and this was what I found. While it's never been in the forefront of my nerdy interest, this amazing fan edit always stuck with me. So glad I could find it when so many FMVs from this era are lost!

Even though this video has been superseded I still enjoy watching it.  It was very imaginative.

I still like this video despite developments on the official show.

ironic that this is 10x better than what we got
