After this first presentation, of a series of three, you will have to receive PS4, PS5, desktop PC motherboards (change CPU socket, DDR memory socket), etc., you will have to establish your route (time, pace, investment economic). Another way to put it, of course I'll accompany you. Excellent option (selection to build it) given that its price is within reach (savings in stages). Excellent explanation. Thanks for making the PDF available. One item that seems trivial but isn't so easy to source with limited information - enclosure. You are repurposing a HTPC ATX case which is fine. But there is no simple standard for this type of case and therefore to source something suitable for the project, and to minimize the amount of modifications, I think some additional information could be useful. Comes to mind - a) suggested dimensions (I could do a mockup with the components as an alternative) b) needs to be horizontal with front panel taking most of the mods c) no internal structures or at least easy to remove without impacting structural strength. If the case you used has a brand/model maybe it helps to search for something similar. I could probably design a two chassis alternative which could be useful for taking up space differently or for storage, but this would be another project.

Maybe I am missing something, but this station is now around 500 dollars on Ali. Yrs, maybe need some adjustment, but it is much easier when you have a base.

I'm considering building one with a single 600W element, ESP32, a few more components, and SSRs, and so far, from my research, it's much cheaper and feature-rich than buying a prebuilt one.
PS: Be careful with Fotek SSRs, there are way too many counterfeit ones, the real ones have a "Taiwan made" and the minimum voltage is 4V, just a thing to note.

Nice video, I am working on something similar. One question: Why did you use the 64 amp circuit breaker? I mean, its 4 x 600 W (bottom heater) + 450 W (top heater) = 2950 W total. Divided by 220V it comes to about 13.4 amps. I mean, the 64 at 30 ms will never pop, even if there is a short. The main breaker with RCD should instead pop first at 16 amps in 5 ms. Or am I missing something?
