"Bro, who are you?"

"You said it".😢

I own this on dvd and blu-ray. One of my fav car movies ever!

The Wrath and the Hitcher was some good movies

The Wraith is one my most favorite movies. I was 8 years old when this movie released. I discovered it a couple of years later when my father taped it when it was HBO. I watched that tape so many times. I actually still have it somewhere though it's probably worn out. I have the VHS and DVD release. I also have a framed original 1986 movie poster (the one with the cast in the corner) that was given to me as a gift.

I love that as I am watching this today, this movie is currently on youtube free with ads. Guess time for a rewatch. lol

Movie was low budget, campy and corny but somehow still entertaining. Watched it several times on HBO in 1988, only a couple years after its theatrical release. One important detail missed in this - if you notice in the road scenes with the Trans Am, the supercharger setup was completely fake. The impeller pulley wasn’t working, the butterflies on the intake were completely closed, and no whine you normally get with a supercharger. And when it crashes, in one camera shot you see it actually fall off the car.

The Interceptor was never "black" it has always been a very dark plum color.

I absolutely love this movie. I bought a copy on VHS - wore it out. Bought another - wore it out. Bought a DVD - still have it and re-watch it regularly. I built a model of the Dodge M4S, in its incarnation as The Wraith's vehicle.

The cheesy dialogue was part of its appeal. Charlie Sheen's performance hinted at how good he could be, and later was. Rughead was one of my all time favourite characters. Randy Quaid played Loomis with the perfect mix of weary and sarcastic. Sherilyn Fenn was the girl we all wanted in 1986. And the story resonated as a revenge tale well told, up the with The Count Of Monte Cristo. And that final heartfelt piece at the end? "Jake. Jake.... Jamie!" was a great ending.

I honestly thought The Wraith was the premiere movie meant to introduce a new television series which never got picked up, a series where Billy Hankins was an avenger travelling the country in his car, writing wrongs and standing up for those who had been wronged, sort of like Knight Rider meets The Equaliser. That bit where Jake gives Billy the car and tells him the instructions are in the glove compartment made it seem like the producers planned some kind of follow on that never happened.

It may have been just one of many 80s forgettable movies. But it wasn't, and has developed a very strong cult following. It deserves that - it's actually quite a good film. And 40 years on, I still love it as much now as I did back then.

The beautiful Sherilyn Fenn really takes me back to the 80s, the way girls looked back then. I love this movie, I watch it a few times a year still .

Another interesting fact.. Chrysler/Dodge refused to let any of the crew or actors handle or drive the Interceptor. The car had its own set of drivers and crew independent from the studio that were brought in by the manufacturer.

I remember watching this in the 80s when it came out. I was 10. Nostalgia kicking in lol

This movie I saw as a child ONCE but caught it a tenth through... So I was GROWN when I found the name of it... This was Fast and Furious 0. With a touch of the supernatural. I did NOT know the car was a real car, though... That shocked the crap out of me.
🙀

Love this movie

I loved the movie, still rewatch it sometimes.  I just always wondered why the illegal street racers put on helmets, but cruising around on the dirt bike was a helmet free event.

A great movie for its time.

9:12  It's not just a John Carpenter "flavor", the line was directly stolen from The Thing (when Clark is first describing the chaos in the dog kennel).

I have always loved this movie

This movie is one of my earliest memories 😂

This is my absolute favorite movie of all time! I speak every word of every line when I watch it. I've even found some of the locations.

I had the opportunity to work with Dave Sherrill, who played Skank in this movie, and he's the nicest guy. I was used to working on "Atlanta Homicide," and Atlantan actors knew me, but I hadn't worked with anyone on either side of the camera on this shoot before. So I hollered, "Skank!" rather loudly, and everyone froze, including the producer. It sounded like I had just called the star of the movie a bad insult. He immediately responded with an energetic "Yeah!" We shook hands, and he was like, "Man, I haven't heard that one in a long time!" So we started chatting, and we suddenly realized that everything had stopped. It looked like we were old friends, and no one wanted to interrupt, LOL.

Watching as an adult yes it's a cheesy simple action movie with one very cool car. But as a child in the late 80's late at night on HBO and not expecting anything good and this... THIS was LEGENDARY!! this was like MAGIC!! A movie unlike any other.
