"The use of unnecessary violence in the apprehension of the Blues Brothers, has been approved" 😇

One of the best days of my life….I met Dan Aykroyd in 1996. I knew where he was doing a news interview. As he was leaving, I asked if he would mind signing something for me. He cheerfully agreed.   I unfolded a Blues Brothers concert poster that was included in Judith Jacklyn’s book.  Dan was visibly taken aback. He asked me in where did I find this, how long I had it. I explained I literally had it hanging in every bedroom I’d slept in since I found the book.   He asked “are you sure you want me to sign it?”   I assured him I was.  

We chatted for a little bit. He left toward the exit. He turns around  and comes back across the building lobby to me and says, “You know it too bad John can’t sign that for you too.”  What a lovely man!

I loved the line "We have both kinds of music here.  Country and Western."

As one who has attended the Valhalla cinema in the Melbourne suburb of Richmond, I can tell you that those Friday nights are among the most valued memories I have.

I think you’re backwards on Cab Calloway. He had released a disco version of Minnie the Moocher, and he wanted to promote that version in the movie. It was  Ackroyd and Belushi that wanted to honor the traditional music, and luckily they were able to convince Calloway to go with the traditional big band arrangement, and we got an iconic movie moment.

One of my top five movies I can watch over and over. 🤩

I am 56 and this is one of the greatest movies I have ever known. It's genius on a hole new level.

Too bad we can't get a human narrating this. The robot voices are so tiresome.

To crack the front axle on a car that does not have a front axle is quite an accomplishment.

Apparently, in the scene where the blues mobile jumps over the police car and clips light bar, John Belushi, and Dan Aykroyd told the stunt man that’s what they wanted to happen but the stunt man said he was just supposed to jump the police car and it would be very difficult with only one take. They each offered him a $500 bonus if he could do it, he did.

I grew up just North of Joliet.  I've driven past that prison hundreds of times.  Fun fact.  The opening scene when Jake gets of of prison silhouetted by the rising sun behind him was shot in the evening.  The sun is actually in the west.

The Valhalla in Melbourne rocked, it was so much fun yelling the lines out and dancing in the aisle, long live the Blues Brothers.

I always like the elevator ride to the clerks office with the muzak playing while all the chaos is chasing them. The registrar slowly stamping forms...

Once per year for 20 years. WE have had a Blues Brothers Party and Movie Screening at our University where all participants dress as someone from the movie and during the screening, people yell out the lines and everyone loves it. It is usually about 100-200 students at this party.

#7, there  was no scene where Belushi went thru a window.

Ain't nothin wrong with the action on this here piana! 😅 Legendary. ❤

One of my top 10 movies of all time. Great cast great music great action and a great time watching it 👍👍

One scene that ALWAYS gets me, is when the Bluesmobile falls apart near end of Movie.

I will love Cab Calloway forever.

Two things from this film stay with me after all these years:
1) Carrie Fisher’s absolutely insane character
2) That incredibly adorable little black dancer in the THINK dance scene.
