Dan Hurd bringing back the dramatic cliffhanger and making us wait 7 days!

Very fun video! So cool to see a working mine in action, and it wasnt even made by dwarves!

I fully understand that feeling of nkt being comfortable underground, you wont find me doing this!

I've spent my time underground, I would love to keep doing it but I'm just too beat up now with the knees and back. Galmoy lead & zinc mine in Ireland from 1999 to 2005.

Former Louisiana salt dome miner here, dynamite produces a rapid explosive "crack" shattering the rock, ANFO produces excessive volume of gas and preasure which creates a heaving force that throws the blasted material.
Kind of like the difference between feather n wedges vs Sierra blasters

As to being uncomfortable under ground my Dad's uncle, a hard rock miner, always said "not to worry, you can't get buried any deeper any cheaper."

Now you know a shockwave feels like Dan. lol I was a combat engineer in the army, that shockwave gets me going every time. It's even cooler when you can stand far enough away to see the shockwave coming at you and you see the blast before it hits you. I stood next to a newbie at his first blast and when it went off, I yelled boom and shook him. His reaction was priceless.

One of the most exciting videos yet,Great job all of you

I have watched many blasting videos over many decades and I would have to say that is one of the best I have seen. Thanks to all that took part in that. I also noticed a common theme, when you blast any type of explosive it seems everyone nearby laughs and giggles. When I first out of high school I got a summer job putting in telephone cable. Every new kid had to work the jackhammer job with an old man that did that all the time. He asked if I would want to blow up the hole (about 1/2 stick of dynamite). I am an 10 year-old American male - sure thing. Still remember that.

When I was a student at University of Waterloo I worked my summers at C.I.L industries making explosives. The stuff Jason is using we called Amite, which was Amonium Nitrate and fuel oil( diesel ) and would add aluminum dust to it to make a separate brand called Metamite. So basically fertilizer and diesel fuel which blows quite efficiently

I love it when you team up with Jason and his crew. It's like a double-double burger 🍔 with cheesy fries 🍟at In-N-Out Burger served up "animal-style". When I watch your video, I march straight over to Jason's channel and munch out again on his video.🍔🍟😋

31:42 Dan is going to set off the blast!!! It's quite an honor to be selected to do such an exciting task.

There's really no wrong way to set it off though (I personally would use an Antique T-Handle Plunger like on every cartoon LOL) It just needs amperage down the wire and not too much a half an amp is enough! :) The voltage is not so important (I thing 6 volts is the minimum? But don't quote me on that)

I was helping drill a residential water well, and they decided to try blasting through rough limestone,

The well driller, set up the charge (all waterproofed) and lowered it into the bottom of the well .. and set it off my putting the wire ends into the normal 120 VAC outlet on the side of the house :) It worked lots of water in that well!!

Fascinating to see the technique if having an empty 0 hole and working away from it. And plugging the end with the mines own grit. Shaking mountains, awesome.
