Great job! Babymetal is actually made up of 3 girls. Akatsuki is a solo song by their lead singer Su-Metal. Su's real name is Suzuka Nakamoto. The other 2 are Yuimetal (Yui Mizuno) and Moametal (Moa Kikuchi). If you do check out more Babymetal you are in for a fun ride. In this song, Su was about 16 years old which, of course, makes her incredible stage presence even more amazing. Actually, you have not even begun to see what she can do. Her stage presence and ability to command a crowd is up there with the elites.

This was one of two sold out shows in the famed Budokan, where they were the youngest group to ever headline.

"Going over thousands (of) nights, some love shall survive.
So, until my body perishes, until my life disappears,
I shall keep on cherishing this love.
Dye crimson! Dye bloody crimson!"
– Akatsuki
This was the concert that sold me on BABYMETAL. I liked them after seeing the viral 'Gimme Chocolate' video, but Su-metal's solo songs made me a die-hard fan.
She doesn't need to fear any of the pyrotechnics because she is fire herself.
The guitarists that night were Leda Cygnus (left) and Takayoshi Ohmura (right).
That pink guitar is one of Ohmura's ESP signature models, known as "Pink-chan".
A cool thing about 'Akatsuki'.
It's written by combining the characters for "Red" and "Moon".
Which helps explain the red moon imagery BABYMETAL uses in many of their concerts.
In the track listing, the character "Kurenai" (deep red or crimson) is used instead of "Red", as a tribute to the X-Japan song with that name.
You might consider 'Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!' for your next reaction: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QEsOaMbNFww
This performance was less than 3 months earlier, from the December 2013 'Legend 1997' concert that celebrated the lead singers's 16th birthday.
1997 was her year of birth.

Nice reaction and welcome to the BABYMETAL galaxy. You have started with a Su-metal solo song - there were actually 3 girls in BABYMETAL, Yuimetal and Moametal were getting a break during this song.
Sadly Yui left the band in October 2018 for undisclosed health reasons. Su and Moa chose to continue as a duo and are now supported by any one of three girls who take turns to dance in the third spot ... but you are yet to see any of their songs with the choreo included.
They have 3 albums and about 50 songs to choose from and every one of them is different, so pick any song at random or follow any recommendations for more reactions and you will be surprised every time. The official videos are very good, but BABYMETAL are a live performance act, so live performance videos are the way to go, just avoid compilations videos if you can.
Their name 'BABYMETAL' is not about their age (although when they started in 2010 they were aged 12 and 11 so it probably did play a part too). The name was chosen for two reasons:
- to symbolize that they gave birth to a new genre of metal music (kawaii metal)
- because the writing (and pronunciation) in Japanese is nearly identical to the writing of "heavy metal" (and they love a pun):
BABYMETAL = ベビメタル (be-bi-me-ta-ru)
heavy metal = ヘビメタル (he-bi-me-ta-ru)

Not bad for a 16 year old at that time . We call her Queen/Goddess for good reasons 💗

You just reacted to the most famous and popular Japanese band in the world. 2020 is their 10 year anniversary, Su-metalis 22 and Moametal is 21. In 2019 they sold-out the LA Forum, other arenas are Wembley Arena, London, set record for merchandise sold, Tokyo Dome 2 nights running, capacity 55,000 and each night was a different concert. Yui the original 3rd member left the band for health reasons.
Welcome to the Fox-hole.

Awesome reaction! We always love seeing the joy and excitement of newcomers discovering BABYMETAL for the first time!
The fan base call ourselves "The One" (after their song), and the journey into the music of BABYMETAL is called "falling into the Foxhole," because their lore and backstory is tied to the Kitsune, or Fox God, which is an important part of Japanese lore.
The original band was a trio consisting of lead singer Su-Metal (Suzuka Nakamoto, seen here) and backup dancers and singers Yui-Metal (Yui Mizuno) and Moa-Metal (Moa Kikuchi), who were off stage having a break during this song. There are two or three songs that Su does solo, four that Yui and Moa do as a duo called Black BABYMETAL, and all the rest, all three are present.
Yui left in 2018 for health reasons, but Moa and Su are still going strong, with a rotating trio of backup dancers called the Avengers (Riho Sayashi or Riho-Metal, Kana Fujihara or Kano-Metal, and Momoko Okazaki or Momo-Metal).
In either incarnation, they are one of the most exciting, dynamic live bands around, and a joy to see live! They incorporate a number of influences, most notably J-Pop and just about every style of metal, along with some world music, especially on the newest album, including Indian ("Shanti Shanti Shanti"), Celtic ("Oh! Majinai"), Latin ("Night Night Burn"), Rap and Hip Hop ("Pa-Pa-Ya" and "BxMxC"), EDM ("Da-Da-Dance"), and more.
Welcome to the One, and I hope you enjoy your trip down the Fox Hole!
Strong recommendations"
