The 80s were a wild ride, especially in the world of heavy metal, with insane outfits and performances. Bands like Motley Crue and Guns N Roses ruled the sunset strip, influencing a generation with their rebellious attitude. It was a true hair metal revolution.

It was a glorious time to be 11 in 1982. The movies that Summer and then the explosion of metal when I returned to school that year. Priceless memories.

New Wave was too fractured to grab hold like metal did. We had the NWOBHM, hair metal, hard rockers, shredders and thrash. What great days! Go rock out to Twisted Sister at a show and on the ride home chill out to Blondie, Police or The Cars.

Teenage in the 80s was a blast. I couldn't believe adults were so freaked out by our music. Playing in a metal/hard rock cover band as an adult really brought home the musicality of it all. Fun video!

It was a time of live shows too. Everybody I knew was aware of the club schedules, and we would drive to see bands - we would drive to see big bands or even club circuit bands - and there were so many good club circuit bands that never got signed. It was about which bands were the tightest, delivered a great show, and you had to have the best vocals, guitars, bass and drums - everything had to be top notch.

Everyone forgets the first four Bon Jovi albums are pretty metal, glam, too. Those riffs and solos sure are.

55 years young here and proud be called a stoner when I was in high school by all the preppies. Heavy Metal was the best shit ever and I still listen to it everyday. Attending shitloads of concerts in southern California back in the 80's was one of the best times of my life. Also, attending GIT back in the late 80's was awesome. Love this video!
