I've seen lightning hit a tree that blew pieces of all over the area around it. There was one piece of it that cut a trench about 8 inches wide and about 4 inches deep. We followed that trench for about 100 yards and found a piece of the tree that was about 4 inches thick, a little less than 8 inches wide, and about 3 feet long. The whole top was shattered and almost every limb was scattered around the tree. I actually saw the strike and it rattled the barn that I was sitting in.

1:42 she’s so lucky she didn’t get impaled from that tree

The VERY reason why I never go outside during a thunderstorm, even if it is a weak one. Lightning is over 50,000'F, a billion volts, and it's unpredictable.

Impressed by the amount of people videoing and not jumping too much when the lightning strikes.

Goes outside.
Holds hands up like "Why the rain?"
LIGHTNING strikes nearby.
Nah. I'm good. No further questions, your Honor.

At 8.23 She asks the question " if lightning struck the tree would we be electrocuted ?" She immediately gets her answer .😂

1:25 Thor: These little piggies are gonna cry whee whee whee all over the place when I scare them with my lightning!

1:26 Those poor piggies.

5:03 I saw one of those when i was a kid, right on top of my head, it was a marvel. Never got scared of thunderstorms again, one can only gawk in awe of the might of mother nature. Nothing comes close to it.

07:17 - Whoa...the dog sensed the buildup of energy and took off just before it hit!

8:16 Best timing ever 😂😂

The closest I've ever been to a direct strike, was about 35 feet or so. It scared the living shit out of me, too.

2:48 poor guy had a mini heart attack 😂😂😂

Finally a video without the boring monotonous narration

Lightning can be pretty scary when you’re out in the middle of the ocean with 26 meters of mast sticking up.

I love watching a thunderstorm, off in the distance, at night. Best light shows on the planet.

0:42 Thor: I'm going to destroy this man's car by hitting this tree!

18:56 "WOOOOOO, YEAH!"  "Get in this house right now!" 🤣🤣

Back in the late 90's lightning destroyed an expensive dial-up modem while I was online. I actually saw the lightning bolt that did it. Fortunately, all my other equipment was fine. Around the same time period I was commuting to work and witnessed lightning strike a radio tower. The tower had a blinking light at the top and it stopped blinking for about three seconds.

Lightning will sometimes form "fulgurites" when it hits sand. Basically, the heat from the lightning bolt will melt the sand into a cast of the bolt.
