It's very common to associate being able to see your breath with the presence of a ghost. That's why you can see Luigi's breath in rooms you have not cleared yet. Not because its just cold or he's breathing heavy.

Thank you for not wasting time explaining what an iceberg is dude. So cool how you just got straight into it. Love it

Luigi's Mansion always has a weird vibe. Like, it tries to follow that funny spooky vibe that Mario usually has, but devs accidentally made it really spooky.

Actually, the Polar Bear Rug is half-possessed, as a Gold Greenie comes out of it after you pull its tail with the Poltergust 5000 for the fist time, and the Polar Bear Rug will no longer roar at you when you walk in front of it after this Gold Greenie is caught. The reason I say it’s half-possessed is because it will still roar if you pull its tail will the Poltergust 5000 after capturing the Gold Greenie, implying that the Polar Bear Rug was haunted even before the Gold Greenie possessed it.

42:25 “Can’t climb any ladders?” There’s ladders on the roof, in the well, in the twins’ room— there are several.

The beta game over screen has been debunked for a long time now. It’s a myth. That was just a creepy little one off scene to further promote the game.

E-Gadd gives Luigi a Virtual Boy and, years later, Nintendo actually brings it back.

By God, he predicted the future.

41:20 My theory is that King Boo knew that Mario would want to check in on the mansion first, so he used an illusion to make the mansion look clean to lure Mario inside. Then, once Mario was inside, King Boo captured him as a measure to guarantee that Luigi wouldn't just run away out of fear. Because really, if Luigi didn't have the mission to save Mario, he'd probably just get out of there as soon as he could.

43:27 it goes deeper than this too, because in the game E Gadd mentions that he's been living there for 60 years, which is a complete continuity error in the timeline of the Mario universe and it's not the only continuity error he causes in the game. My headcanon is E Gadd is just lying which is why things things he says don't add up.

Also worth mentioning I think that since the canon ending is a D rank, it's possible that E Gadd stole the rest of the treasure Luigi collected.

Also one more reference to Luigi’s mansion was a level in Nintendo land for the WiiU. You could have up to five players 4 Luigi’s and one ghost

2:09:37 This is also wrong. The Dark Moon only affects the ghosts of Evershade Valley, otherwise the events of Luigi’s Mansion One would never have happened, because the portrait ghosts would’ve been peaceful, and the events of Luigi’s Mansion 3 wouldn’t have happened, because Helen Gravely would’ve been peaceful and thus wouldn’t never have freed King Boo. This is also further proven by the fact that non of the Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon ghosts reappear in Luigi’s Mansion 3. Why would they appear? They’re all peaceful now, because the Dark Moon has been restored.

35:48 Luigi’s mansion was originally pitched as being a Mario-centric game, as said by Hideki Konno in an interview from 2001

I personally think that we need a Luigis mansion x castlevania game where Luigi gets called to castlevania during the event of 1999 when the castle get put in the moon.

58:38 that poster is also in Melody’s room next to the piano along with some other pictures of ghosts with instruments. Luigi says “Hmmm… Weird…” when you scan them

0:35 That was just for the trailer. There's no evidence that this was ever supposed to be the game over, it's just a rumor.

The high price for those Joyride figures ain't just because they were exclusive to Nintendo Power.

They got a bit of TV fame in the form of being used as puppets on Robot Chicken (and a VERY well-known skit on top of that), so like the old plushies that certain YouTubers use for their videos, this drives up the demand.

42:21 there's like three ladders in the release game, on the roof there's two, and in the twins' room at their bed you can climb theirs (for some reason?? you just get stuck on the top bunk though)
58:36 This ghost picture IS actually used in the Conservatory, along with a few other musical-based ghosts as posters on walls, and given the storage room is right next to the conservatory (and even off a bit in the same direction) I'd just say it loaded an asset a little off
either way cool video!!

At 1:27:45, I feel the Haunt and Seek gamemode did eventually get used. Im pretty sure it became the game seen in Nintendo Land. You play as a ghost trying to gank Luigi and co, and is EASILY the most fun game in Nintendo Land.

Amazing video, deserves way more attention!

I love this era! Everything was just a bit looser during this time. So it kinda feels like a privilege to be able to play the og Luigi’s Mansion, cause compared to every other Luigi’s Manson games they all just don’t feel like the name “Luigi’s Mansion” belongs.
