For years, much of the news coming out of Northern Ghana has focused on poverty, conflict, crime, and other negative stories. But I wanted to go beyond the headlines and experience Tamale for myself  to meet the people, explore the communities, taste the food, and see everyday life with my own eyes.

In this documentary, I take you on a journey through Tamale and beyond, exploring a side of Northern Ghana that is often overlooked.

We started by exploring the **Tamale Central Market**, experiencing the energy of the city, meeting people, and enjoying some of the region's delicious street foods and snacks. We also looked at transportation and everyday life in Tamale, giving a closer look at how people move, work, trade, and live.

But the journey didn't end in the city.

I travelled about 29 kilometres from Tamale to Botanga, where I stepped into rural Northern Ghana to experience a completely different way of life. I explored the community, interacted with locals, and learned more about rural life, traditions, and how people survive and build their communities away from the city.

I also visited a spiritualist to learn more about spirituality and traditional beliefs, and to understand the connection between the people of Tamale and their spiritual traditions.

This journey isn't about pretending that the challenges facing Northern Ghana don't exist. They do. But there is also beauty, hospitality, culture, food, spirituality, community, entrepreneurship, and everyday life that deserve to be seen and understood.

This is my attempt to see Tamale beyond the headlines.

Come with me as we explore Tamale, Northern Ghana — the people, the food, the culture, the markets, the rural communities, and the stories that don't always make the news.**
