"you can pay a soldier to charge the enemy and take a hill but you cant pay him to believe."

Rex desperately struggling against his chip when Order 66 is given is one of the most heartbreaking scenes in Star Wars to me.

I can almost guarantee certain clones would not have betrayed their Jedi commanders. In the Expanded Universe, where the inhibitor chips were not a thing, several Clone Commanders that were especially close to their Jedi generals disobeyed their orders, faked their superior's death, and allowed them to escape. Some examples from the Republic Commando novels included Etain Tur-Mukan and Arligan Zey. I have no doubt that Ahsoka Tano's men would not have betrayed her without the chips. She knew them all personally by name, saw them as real people, and valued their lives. The same for Aayla Secura or Plo Koon. Other Jedi commanders like Obi-Wan who treated their troops with respect but weren't personally close to them would probably have had a schism between the troops loyal to their Jedi commander and those loyal to orders.

Bro, you and I are so much closer to a walking and talking dolphin than a Kaminoan could ever hope to be 😂

I chose to believe crosshair shot that separatist to save Cody from having it on his conscious

Captain rex was a real one. The clone truly where done dirty.

Finally! I was getting concerned with the lack of dolphin slander on this channel. Humanity first!

Great video, as always. I really appreciate this channel. It manages to steer clear of division while focusing on a franchise with a famously divided fanbase. Whenever I come here, I can just nerd out and be a fan without any extraneous bs. That's valuable.

The Umbara arc might have been the biggest storyline of them all to show that side of who you obey versus who you don’t and I’m so glad that arc exists in Clone Wars

12:58 "Captain rex manages to deescalate the situation"

The Rex vs Cut dynamic has always been one of the most fascinating in regards to the clones because they both make valid arguments.

Captain Rex is my favorite clone in Star Wars because he always wants to do the right things and his skills.

Also I want to point out that Rex and Cody during both order 66 scenes had different situations with their targets. Cody didn’t lack intelligence but Obi Wan was physically so far away and moving so fast that there wasn’t much time to think. He would have failed if he waited any longer or tried to plan something.

Rex was in the next room when the order came down. He had to move quick which is what he’s been adapted to do under Anakins leadership. Rex was also somewhat aware of what the chips were meant to do. I doubt he even told Cody. But he would have been more prepared mentally. That and TECHNICALLY Ashoka wasn’t a Jedi, the chip probably had to calculate that reasoning which gave Rex the time he needed to warn her.

I think not enough credit is given to jango and his hand picked trainers in with how the clone army turned out

I really like Howzer because he's an independent-minded Clone like Rex (and unlike Wolffe).

12:28 Remember, switch up on your day ones before they switch up on you.

5:38 watching these clips really makes me just want to rewatch all of Clone Wars again- I think I might just do that!

I think Rex also gets his moral compass from obi-wan, when he’s reintroduced in rebels he talks with that imperial officer and says he was loyal to the republic in a way that echoes what obi-wan says to anakin on mustafar

Never understood why Jango was the only DNA base used. All of his handpicked Mando warrior teachers could do everything he did and sometimes better. Just saying that this had to be part of the grand plan of Palps to.

I'm writing a story involving Jedi Fallen order and at one point I want to bring in an original clone officer.

His Jedi General would often study the planets they were going to ahead of time, learn its fauna, it's people, It's culture, and since they were attached to the 41st Scout Battalion, it just slotted right into the unit perfectly. This Jedi General did the same thing with the Clones they were given command of them. At least the best they could.

The Clone which I've named Stryker would take a lot of traits from his Jedi General.

So during the Battle of Kashyyyk Stryker would act a lot like Rex but extend it towards the Jedi General and their Padawans.

I haven't worked out all the details involving the scenario but the Clone and his Jedi General and Jedi Commanders would live through Order 66 and get his inhibitor chip removed and vow loyalty to his Jedi.

And be loyal to the point where he would steal a Venator alongside like-minded clones... And get away with it.

How did they evade Darth Vader you would ask?

They weren't stupid and and it immediately hid, only using the Venator to pick up collaborators or like-minded clones and give them a community.

Only attack with it when they needed. I haven't worked out the details on how they would keep it operational however. Likely getting resourceful with a few decks in terms of growing food and water.

Anyone is welcome to comment on this by the way.

I just watched Clone Wars for the first time ever this year. I binged most of it over the spring, but then I got to the  Fives inhibitor chip arc which is absolutely soul-crushingly sad. I actually took a ~2 month-long break after the end of that arc, and finally finished it in the middle of the summer. Also the absolute dread of knowing what was going to happen to Anakin, all the Jedi, and the clones was weird. Knowing the end result, but not knowing the exact path taken to get there
