Achara & Brandon watch Diary of a Mad Black Woman, the emotional drama-comedy that follows a woman whose life is turned upside down when her husband abruptly throws her out, sending her on a painful but empowering journey of healing, faith, and self-worth—with a little tough love from Madea along the way.

Written by Tyler Perry (Madea’s Family Reunion, Why Did I Get Married?, Acrimony) and directed by Darren Grant (First Sunday, Biker Boyz), the film stars Kimberly Elise (Set It Off, John Q, For Colored Girls), Tyler Perry (Madea Goes to Jail, The Haves and the Have Nots), Steve Harris (The Practice, Minority Report), Shemar Moore (Criminal Minds, S.W.A.T.), Cicely Tyson (Sounder, The Help), and Lisa Marcos (The Listener, The Flash).

We still collectively strongly DISLIKE CHARLES! The same way we don’t like Mike 😂

Achara is unhinged 😂. “Start a fire. Poop in a corner.”

Fun Fact: The home of the Mccarters was Tyler’s first home that they are filming in.

I still can’t get over how much Kimberly looks like Cicely Tyson (RIP) . The casting and acting in this movie will always be top tier.

Honestly, I think Charles' behavior isn't difficult to understand. Hellen was with him for 18 years. She knew him when he had nothing. But if you pay attention to how Charles treats the drug dealer guy, you start to see how it parallels how he treated Hellen. Charles wanted to completely disassociate himself from the people who knew him when he was nobody. He didn't value Hellen because he saw her as a constant reminder of where he came from. Selfish to the core, and desperate to convince himself that he's someone special. Beyond just setting up the injury that brings Hellen back to Charles, I feel the entire purpose of the drug dealer character was to highlight Charles' desire to cut off all the people he used to know.

Achara has me dying laughing. She was not on it with Orlando. She's like, "No. It's too soon. Nah. You doing too much... He's fine though"

I still haven’t forgot how smitten Jaby was by Orlando 🤭😂

So fun facts. That's Tyler's actual house he filmed in. The singer you see 1st is Cheryl Pepsi Rylie. She has a real popular gospel song called Thanks For My Child. Tyler was mad when he scratched his mirror when he wiped that shirt across it. Tyler almost ruined the piano scene when he almost walked in at the wrong moment and nearly tripped the wire. Apparently they only had one take. Before Brenda walks in there was a huge moth that got in her hair and she had a hard time getting it out. You can see the moth on the wall. Tyler didn't wanna film Kimberly getting dragged out of the house but Kimberly said it was ok. Tyler admitted that the wig that he had Shemar wear was terrible, he was so shocked that Shemar took the wig and wore it on the Young and the Restless. Tiffany can actually sing. She won Star Search when she was younger. The singer at the restaurant is actually named Shondra. That was Tyler's way of honoring her and promoting her singing. The preacher is named Tyrell and he had braids but Tyler made him cut it off. He thought a preacher wouldn't have cornrows. He wasn't happy at 1st but he's kept the look. Tyler actually wanted his Madea character to use the gun but he realized the rating would have to go up to R. So instead he showed the gun but he only used it once. Debra wasn't singing at the end. She was lip synching.

Brandon's reaction from the depature of "old Helen" through to the bathtub scene was EVERYTHING. 😅

That dance is called the Electric Slide it's line dancing not square. And it's a huge staple at typically black family cookouts, weddings, family reunions, and maybe some baby showers and other certain events.
