The way that all the DKtubers know each other and are on seemingly good terms and even cooperations takes me back to when the same was true for the, at the time, small collection of Zeldatubers. It's amazing and beautiful that one croc can bring people together from all over the world and all kinds of backgrounds.
Bananza reestablishes K. Rool’s goofy-menacing personal in his first 30 seconds. Having him first hiss at the player while “eyeing” them menacingly, and then doing an immediate goofy “where’s my crew” gag
"So he's finally back, performing for you. If you know your place, you will join him too. Put your claws together, for a villian most cruel. c-c-cuz this time, He's here to rool."
I love the disparity between both Bowser and K. Rool as kings
Bowser is respected and revered by the Koopa Troop. Though they try to tip toe around sensitive topics that might flare his temper, Bowser's army and family really try their hardest to fight their king's enemies.
K. Rool on the other hand is a tyrannical despot who uses his bigger size and strength to dominate the other Kremlings. So many of them live in fear of K. Rool because he is much more prone to violent punishments as seen in DK 64 and Bananza.
They are similar on a base line view, but peel back the layers of their histories and these two reptiles couldn't be any more different. If they ever met in a game, they'd probably hate each other's guts
3:05 I love how Bananza not only answers that question, but also recontextualizes a statement he made about "not liking bananas." He likes bananas, but only when they're overripened and mushy, since he talks about eating banana mush in the game a lot and one of the loading screens shows him eating rotting bananas.
I can't understate how important that Smash trailer was. I was someone that didn't have any real ties to K. Rool and DKC since that was just barely before my time, but once I saw that I immediately knew people weren't joking or just being nostalgic when asking for him. What that trailer did wasn't just reintroducing him to the world, it outright sold many people on him.
I always liked that K Rool and Bowser could be so goofy yet serious when they wanted to be and still feel in character, but it's kool to hear that K Rool did it first!
honestly i didnt mind the rouges gallery of villains in the 2000’s.
kremlings are great but i think variety isnt a bad thing, but i think their biggest detriment was the fact they werent really anything other than “The Bad Guys To Take Down”
Honestly I love K. Rool's name. It sounds like "Cruel" or "Rule" and for me personally as a Polish person, I remember thinking it was based of the word "król", which is pronounced similar to "cruel" and means King.
DK isn’t DK without K. Rool and the Kremlings. The cheeky British humor, the design theming that changed with each game, not to mention the Krocs are the perfect foil to the Kongs.

Did you know the girder pattern on his cape is completely coincidental?
