Who else was looking forward to the field and brush carnage once Mustie got it running ?

Mustie, I wanted to share a quick story to give you an idea of the positive impact and reach you have with your channel. I grabbed a freebie wood chipper this morning with a nice 8hp Briggs on it. Little rusty, “hasn’t been run in years”. Got it home and had my teenage sons come out for some lessons. You got to understand, my dad wasn’t mechanically inclined at all and could barely work a screwdriver so it took me many years of hands on figuring-it-out and learning from others to get a basic knowledge of fixing things. Your channel has taught me many valuable lessons and probably most import, the proper method for troubleshooting which I want to impart on my kids. We went down the list:
Pulled it over to make sure it wasn’t seized
Checked oil level and condition
Checked for spark
Fuel tank was bone dry and smelled good
Dribbled some gas in the cylinder, popped the plug back in and pulled it over
It fired right up (insert Mustie laugh here)
Put a little gas in the tank and she ran without issue. Not stutters, noises, etc.
Both tires were off the bead so I taught my boys the ratchet strap trick to air the,m up. Both seated and took air to proper pressure.
We now have a nice little chipper/shredder that cost zero dollars and gave me the opportunity to pass on the knowledge I’ve learned from your videos to my sons. You can’t put a price on that.

There's no such thing as taking advantage on a Offer. They always have the right and opertunity to say NO

Here’s a theory: The guy who thinks you took advantage on the sale is the guy who doesn’t look after his stuff, it breaks, he can’t fix it himself, and has to go buy another one.
He then gets pissed that someone else can fix it.
It’s always a gamble when you are buying something not working. It’s a risk, so not worth nearly as much.

I had to laugh, at the person who thought you took advantage....  Used equipment that is not running, the price starts at scrap value....

Buying used stuff, will quickly remove any faith you ever had in humanity.....  with a shop vac, usually...  Complete clean out.  

Dealerships!  Ohhh, that's another one....  Don't get me started....

OMG did anyone else catch the comment "Urine sample" while he was using a medical vomit pan to catch the oil from the filter. I about fell out of my chari. ha ha... BUt its a couch I couldn't fall.

She looked like it should be in great shape, but looks can be deceiving.  That is the main reason you offer a discounted price when you buy it.

If it was running on one cylinder, that might also explain the gas in the oil.

I'm mostly disabled after being a gearhead most of my life. Content like this keeps me sane.

I love the long videos, which I know makes it harder to edit and longer hours to edit, but hopefully it's paying off for you knowing how much it helps so many people. That thing is a combination heavy-duty lawnmower and chain saw.  With respect to whoever was beefing about Mustie taking advantage of the former owner’s widow - c’mon!  She wasn’t going to use any of this stuff and most people wouldn’t have a clue how to fix it and as Mustie said, he may very well have paid $500 for a completely scrap machine. Besides, he partially makes a living fixing and reselling old machines - if he pays retail for them, he couldn’t make any money.

Your sound effect timing was impeccable. I legit wasn’t sure if that was you or your grease gun making that noise until you fessed up. 🤦‍♂️😆

I mighta got fooled into putting my tongue on that spark plug 3000 episodes ago, but now I'm wise to you, Mustie1! lol!

I worked at a repair shop as a mechanic when I was 16-17, just the owner and I. We worked on mowers chainsaws string trimmers etc. To check fire the owner would just grab the plug wire and pull the cord or turn the key. I used a clip on spark tester. To this day, at 52, I still can’t get over the fact that he did this several times a day, no change in his demeanor except the occasional “yep that one’s hot”.
