Thanks. I really like how you walk us through the trouble shooting process, just as if we were there drinking your beer :)

Mustie1, you sir are my garage putting hero. I came across your page when I was trying to buy a riding mower. Money is tight so I bid my time, well last Friday I scored a craftsman mower for 50 bucks. It had issues and wouldn't start, but having watched your videos, I not only got it running but fixed a few issues. Thanks for everything!!! My full time job is A/V and working with lights, sound and video. I know Adobe video editing and event production. If there is ever anything I can do, to repay all the advice and actual entertainment, just let me know. Thank you sooo much

Drop everything will it run  video oh yea what a way to start a Friday

Got my brother's 1998 Yard Machines Push Mower running and cutting again after sitting for 10 years thanks to your teaching.

After seeing your videos I found  22 inch Murray lawn mower an I fixed it, all because of you and in only 12. thank you mustie for giving me motivation to start my own grass cutting business with my friend

That turned out nice...yes, it's a little old but the engine runs well and it should last a good few years yet

Absolutely love your videos..   have learnt so much watching your videos over the years...👌👍

Yeah I saw a vid of how to troubleshoot using a probe, which I found at NAPA for $120, and they showed how to test fuses, but that seemed like alot of money to test fuses. I used a multi meter set on ohms, and found a bad fuse. That was after checking every wire in the harness. Haha, wish this had come out in March!  But this explains some of what I don't know about electricity - eternally grateful Mustie 1   !!!!

Thanks for your videos. I became a double amputee about a year ago and just now starting to move in my wheelchair alone. Your videos are so calming and relaxing to watch, also very informative. Thanks so much for all you do.

Keeping more stuff out of the landfill, and more money in your pocket...Living the dream :)

I could watch this stuff all day long!

Once you have established there is a good 12V supply, It is always best, during trouble shooting with a volt meter, to leave the ground in place and trace down the missing voltage as you progress through the circuit. It' is far to easy to forget weather you are looking for a solid ground or voltage. Remember don't let the smoke out. Good job.

No crap, you ARE the engine whisperer.

Nice work!  :-)

5 mins with a welder on the deck, a little spray paint, and she's good as new!!

i love the hand made annotations,  ''nope''

Cup holder? Beer holder, surely?

I m a former craftsman mower mechanic , check the battery , check the solenoid, check the starter, 9-10 times it was the battery

That ignition switch terminal is the same one I’m having problem with.... I was ready to buy a new harness but now I know I can pop it out of the block, problem solved. You are educating me about small engines and equipment. Thank you

I got the exact same machine out of a neighbors trash 5 years ago for my son who had bought a house on a 1/4 acre. $250 later he still uses it to this day.   I had to replace a few steering parts (somebody was trail riding up north with it) and new blades.  Thanks for the overview with the electrical.  Every bit of knowledge helps.......

Suggestion: Use contact fluid/spray next time, makes life much
easier.
2) ... needs slight adjustment... whack whack whack (with a hammer)! LOL
