The Fox 62K this year was absolutely brutal in the heat. Temperatures pushing close to 30°C made it a real test of pacing, hydration, and keeping the heart rate under control.
The trails were fast and runnable in places, but once the heat kicked in during the later stages it became more about survival and smart decisions than outright pace. Massive respect to everyone who took part — conditions like that can break people down quickly.
Legs actually held up really well from all the elevation training leading into the event, but the heat and dehydration definitely added another level to it. A proper learning experience for future ultras.
