Jeff Nippard has a video about how to look steroidy without needing to take steroids. This glorifies the aesthetic of steroid abuse, but it's also a strange misunderstanding of aesthetics. Why would anyone want to look like an addict? Or at least that was my assumption. I surveyed 700 men and women to find out for sure.

JEFF NIPPARD: When I said that Jeff's video implied that looking steroidy was better, I know he didn't say it directly, and I can't read his mindβI don't know what he actually thinks. I do think the subtext is clear, though. When I spoke about it with other guys, they came away with the same impression.
For example, when one of the raters said that Seb, Spencer, and Brad looked "100% natural," Jeff responded that they'd been getting "roasted" all day. That kind of comment gives me the impression that Jeff thinks it's better to look steroidy. But I'm not talking about what Jeff thinks. I don't know what he thinks. I'm talking about the impression I got from watching the video.
I also think the whole premise of the video implies that looking steroidy is better. It's set up so that the steroidy side of the lineup is the "good" side of the lineup. The video is a tutorial about how to move towards that steroidy side. I know some people see it differently, and I get that.
GREG DOUCETTE: When I said that Greg Doucette "was almost certainly a fake natty," I didn't mean that he's currently a fake natty, I meant that he was a fake natty in the past.
If the news articles I showed are correct, he competed in a natural bodybuilding show, a natural powerlifting meet, a natural bike race, then got caught smuggling steroids, and then refused a drug test, which got him banned from bike racing. After getting caught, he started admitting he was taking steroids.
JAMES SMITH: When I said that James Smith "uses" steroids, I didn't mean that he "abuses" steroids. James Smith is on TRT (anabolic steroids prescribed by a doctor). I explained how I differentiate between steroid use and abuse at the beginning of the video, and I made sure to say he was a user, not an abuser.
