To answer your question, the mustache is central to Viltrum's culture. There's even a test of maturity where they rip off their beards and leave the mustaches in place.

Also fun fact: Viltrum, and by extension Viltrumites, get their name from the area between the upper lip and nose where the mustache grows called the Philtrum

Post Thragg Stress Disorder hit so hard that pressing Cecil for Conquest is at the bottom of the priority list now.

To be fair to Thragg, post purge they built their numbers up again into the hundreds of billions. And then Optimus came and hit them with the mother of all reset buttons and wiped out 99.9999999999995% of them. Told Thragg to get his numbers up 💀

18:40 he's referring to the Scourge Virus that wiped out over 99% of the remaining population after the first purge. the galaxy spun back and went after them with a horrifically deadly airborne agent.

21:35 I'mma tell yall right now, no TechJacket slander will be tolerated round here. that is one of THE most solid characters in the entire series.

15:25 I mean to be fair invincible fans have to watch mark get his ass beat all the time so I think they do 😂

CJ left out that after the purge, Thaedus, who went into hiding after assassinating Grand Regent Argall, comes back and releases a virus called "The Scurge" which wipes out almost what's left of the population. It's why Viltrumites were sent out to find other species to breed with to see if any were compatible with Viltrumite DNA and how Nolan ended up with Debbie. Mark also had a PTSD incident where he was with his friends on their college campus, saw dismembered bodies everywhere, and then saw Anissa (the female Viltrumite with the short, dark hair) holding his friend, William, by the throat and ripping his jaw off. Each of the deaths he hallucinated mirrored what happened in the battle. Debbie=Thaedus, Eve=What almost happened to Mark, Cecil=Nolan, and William=Oliver

Btw, the actor who plays Thaedus also plays Optimus Prime, which is why CJ references that character a few times.

5:50 the mustahce is LITERALLY a viltrumite thing. Not even joking it is recognized throughout the entire world, as what a male viltrumite looks like. It's talked about multiple times in the later seasons.

This is a point in the flashback episode that gets me when it's covered, because him killing that veteran viltrumite wasn't for no reason. It had nothing to do with his color, but his age. At that meeting with Thragg he expressed to him that he was young and didn't know the value of peace. Thragg questioned whether he should take action against Thadeus but chose mercy, his mercy got his Emperor killed. That man reminded him of Thadeus, and since Thadeus fled after assassinating the Emperor, Thragg could not avenge him.

The craziest part is that where the seasons leaves off is not even half way through the comic run so Thragg has a LOT of time to pull off some OUTRAGEOUS stuff. Also they did buff him in the show since in the comics Mark was at least able to make him bleed, but in the show not only was he eating all those punches for breakfast, he got that demonic mugshot of an impact frame when he nearly broke Mark's arm by taking that punch to the hairline.

12:30 The purpose of the purge wasn't to find out who was weak, that's just what the propaganda is. The real reason was to cultivate a population that would never betray them the way that person that killed the pass empire did. Basically it was to make everyone more loyal.

5:53 most Viltrumites having mustaches is actually the creators way to say they're strong. Back on the last century, strong men in the circus where depicted using body suits and mustaches (a fashion style on the time) so the creators used that to be a "key point" on their design

18:15 WATCH THE SHOW PLEASE. The show explains EVERYTTHING

Viltrum was actually named (by the authors, not in-universe) after the philtrum, the part of the face the mustache grows on. Apparently, this was because Nolan was designed to be, like, the platonic ideal of a dad, and the creators' dads all had mustaches.

34:27 as Cecil said in RabSoPetty's Conquest video: "Donald, if Mark can’t do shit to him, what the fuck do you expect us to do?"

13:40 😂😂ba ba ba billions

3:17 That was a BANGER. Damn Skitten 🤣

19:00 yall don't realize. by the time Nolan stopped FLYING and FINALLY recovered from this punch. NOLAN DECIDED. "YEAH, IT'S EASIER TO BLOW THIS PLANET THE FUCK UP. THAN TO KILL THRAGG."

34:30 that's the worst part. go watch the actual speech. they KNEW that earth because of Nolan was the best genetic match for the remaining viltrumites. but that plan also went two-fold.

Thragg's terms were this: you dont take further action against us, you all get to live, we build up our numbers, we LEAVE. that's it. because he knew they still had the Scourge Virus...

So the reason it’s not cognitive dissonance with Thragg saying he doesn’t want more dead Viltrumites, since I didn’t see it in the comments, is that the weakness Thragg was purging was mercy . We got a scene after the -25% council between Thragg and Argall where Thragg says Thaedus used to be the cruelest and the greatest in their company when they fought together, but that he lately speaks of mercy. Argall suggests he get rid of him but Thragg still looks up to the Thaedus he knew. But then Thaedus assassinates Argall; so, Thragg feels guilty over his hesitation. That’s why the purge was needed to remove the weakness of mercy from his society, and ordering it removed it from himself. From having only seen the show so far: he’s twisted, evil, and dogmatic, but he’s internally consistent and is not lying when he says things like “The death of any Viltrumite leaves a void in me” before causing the death of most of them
