The spelling usage of American English or British English doesn't matter too much.  It's the different slang that matters more, given American, British, and Australian slang can have different meanings.

2:55 in the uk we have 'reception' before year one, not sure why it's not on the table lol. There's also nursery before reception but that's more optional (most people go there anyway but it's more so that the parents can work rather than an actual requirement)

5:10 this is pointing out the MAID program in Canada. They just killed a guy for seasonal depression, and a Canadian veteran asked the VA for the money to install a wheelchair lift in his house so that he can access his second floor and they recommended that he unalived himself. Seriously these are both real cases.

The word kindergarten is a German word and was first used by educators in France in the early 1800s. So it’s not only an American thing

Sophomore = sophos (wise) + moros (fool) = wise fool. Referring to how second years know just enough to think they know everything but don't know enough to know they don't know anything.

I just noticed cypress’s cursor is herself that’s so cute

Note that French fries and French toast are named after the style of how they are prepared. The fries are cut in a French cutting style and French toast is how they are cooked.

Grilled cheese are best made in a George Foreman grill

1:45 we do both...we say were in 12th grade but refer to it as our senior year..we say both depending on the situation.... or maybe its just a regional thing...where im from we said both...

In Australia, "french fries" are also known as "shoestring fries/chips" (but only when bought as a frozen bag). Which is to say...small thin  chips are still called "fries", chunkier chips are called "chips", and the flattened potato slice chips are called  "potato chips"

6:40 sorry I keep doing this, Resident American yapper over here. We actually DO have a lot of homes without spaces between them, including row homes, condominiums, apartments, townhomes etc. Generally you’ll see this in the inner city more often, as well as a lot of newer developments as well. See the LA Bungalow Courtyard Apartments or Philadelphia Rowhomes as some pretty unique regional examples.

13:48 to explain the 4th of July thing: this is due to the holiday celebrating a specific July 4th. If something big happened every July 4th, a holiday would not be refered to as the 4th of July, because it would not be celebrating a specific one.

7:36 And just as an addendum CapriSun is a German company 😂

21:40 The British are basically saying: "Why are you buying tea that is already liquid, rather than tea bags to put in hot water to make tea?"

14:10  And, cue the "Tea tastes different in hot water" meme here

22:04 I watched a video where British teenagers and school teachers tried Iced Sweet Tea. They all loved it.

We do heat up water to make it then chill it to drink. It still tastes like hot tea but it's cold and frankly more refreshing on a hot day.

Americans are obese because our food is terrible for us but tastes pretty good.

Those same people tried American biscuits and gravy as well as Thanksgiving staples. They loved it too in general.

19:40 They needed to add all the ITV channels as well haha!

2:41 in france, it's cut in 4 pack of years, like you have primary school, wich is composed from CP, CE1, CE2, CM1, and CM2, then you have what we call "college", wich is 6th grade, 5th grade, 4th grade, and 3rd grade, after that there's highschool, wich is 2nd grade, 1st grade and terminal grade, and then the big test called the "baccalauréat" wich finishes your highschool, and after that you can do the special studies you prefer for the work you wanna do, so it's completely different from any other country (i'm sorry if my english is not perfect)

Freshman/Sophomore/Junior/Senior nomenclature is used for specific schools.  High School is generally a completely separate school, with the Freshman being fresh because it's their first year.

Thing is, it also applies to College.  Your first year of college is your Freshman year, just like it is in High School.

As an American, I will put this whole thing to rest. Every country has their own unique culture. Don't compare 1 culture to another. Unless your culture is under threat by a different culture, that would rewrite the original culture of the country, don't compare.
