I love magpies - they sing beautifully, and are very loyal and caring if you treat them right.

Every American i have met in Australia has been the nicest most positive and intelligent person. They are the smart ones that made it out.

Aussies in general hate people who are up themselves. This applies to anyone and everyone, doesn't matter where you are from, even if you are aussie.. If you are a person who comes across as if your shit doesn't stink. Then you would probably fit the bill. Just chill, remember to be polite and smile, you will be alright.

That particular bat species is a known colloquially as a Flying Fox; because their faces resemble small foxes with dog like muzzles and large eyes. They are indeed bats - Fruit Bats. They feed on fruit and nectar.

The skit with the Sun in Melbourne is because the weather is known to be shitful & unpredictable here. It's known to have all 4 seasons in one day, it's not uncommon even on a hot/warm day in Melbourne to have a jumper and umbrella with you as the weather can very quickly change to wet, cold & miserable very fast.

The " not too bad" is so true. I was in the Emergency room vomits, sweats in an IV drip due to gallstones and the Dr asked "how are you" and the "yeah, not too bad" just fell out. Even i was thinking WTF 😂😂

We had a Prime Minister that drowned and in his honour names a swimming centre after him.

Crocodile Dundee says that "no one gets therapy because if you have a problem, you just tell Wally, he tells everyone else, pretty soon, no more problem."

Its not that we really dislike Americans or America so much as we dislike an aspect of your culture - Australian's don't like the self promotion that Americans come out with, the loud, we are the greatest type attitude from a lot of Americans combined with the ignorance they have about the rest of the world. Personally I like every single American I have ever met, great people individually. The loud, brash culture tho? Not so much. Look up the dutch concept of "nuchterheid" which basically means 'down to earth' a philosophy that resonates with Australians. No one is better than anyone else and if you go around saying you are better you are going to get Aussies backs up.

Aussie here, lived, worked all over - met loads of Americans, and pretty much all have been decent, caring down to earth open eyed people.

I don't think Australians hate Americans. I have a.lot of American friends and theyre all great people. I think Australians dislike the defautism and arrogant "america is the best" attitude.
