Ugh, the case of Christine Collins is so horrific to me. I cannot even imagine what that poor woman went through. The movie is brilliantly done, but infuriating.

I'm surprised that An American Crime didn't make either list. What Sylvia Likens went through is disturbing, heartbreaking, and downright nauseating. That poor girl was tortured by an entire neighborhood of people.

I feel bad for Aileen Wuornos, she was absolutely the product of her childhood. Did you see the interview with her mom? She didn't stand a chance.

Regarding Anneliese Michel, you're forgetting that the medicine and treatment at the time were ineffective. That's why the family thought she was possessed; they had already tried medicine. Also, current doctors have warned that some of the medication used then actually could have worsened her condition. Aolept is not even approved for use in the United States due to adverse side effects. This was a case where science wasn't at the right stage to help

11:35 30 murders and the judge was like “I think you’re the worst person in the whole world but god damn are you pleasant! If you had chosen a different path in life- you’d likely have a job along side of me” or some bullshit like that. A man murders and beheads 30+ women and the judge is like “you suck but I bet you could be a swell fella like myself!” Ew.

I think the scariest part of all this is most of these murderers and evil criminals are free still to this day

It's like when people believe the phrase based on a true story means more than it really does.

I will never understand the compliance one. How do you answer the call of a stranger on the phone and just take his word for it that he's a cop without any proof?

With the Annalise Michelle case her parents did take her to doctors, they just weren't sure what was wrong with her so the parents did what they thought was going to help her.

I was raised in Staten Island between the late 80s/ early 90s. The Cropsey story was 100% something the adults told kids to keep them away from that place. Right nearby Willowbrook are the ruins of the Seaview Farm Colony, which has equally terrible stories regarding the early days of tuberculosis testing and experiments. Awesome to see the story covered!

Jason Barkley knew that guy wasn't his brother, but he didn't want his mother's heart to break again. Jason didn't do anything to his brother except not go pick him up.
He blamed himself enough in life. We don't need to add to that.

I’m surprised Hotel Rawanda isn’t on either list

Brian's death was so horrible. Speaking of icebergs, there's a lot more to that case. A dead body was found in a freezer while they were investigating Brian's murder.

After Deepwater Horizon, BP shirked their responsibilities cleaning up. In NZ we boycotted BP for over a decade.

Deep water horizon, my brother in law, was supposed to have been on that rig, that day,but before the helicopter got there to unload, they called in and needed him on a different rig,my sister didn't know that at the time of the explosion, it was almost 48 hours before she finally heard from him, longest 48 hours of our lives,he still works on the oil rigs today...

I worked at a state mental hospital in Texas in the early 2000s and it was still pretty awful. I think by now they’ve put cameras in those places so the staff isn’t as cruel as they were when I worked there.

Carandiru didn´t turn into an university after it´s demolition. I lived nearby for 10 years. The site, which is huge, became a High School, a public library and an urban park, and the female prision is still functioning there in 2026. The female part of the complex was a smaller one and was not demolished.
