Check out Matt's Video on MK Advance here! : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PGE-ie4YBec&t=0s

The idea the developers had in mind was "how would a normal person perform against the kombatants?" and that's how mk advance came to be

This game was actually my first MK game. When I eventually got to play the Genesis version, I was shocked at the vast difference in quality.

Clearly the next MK needs an 'Advanced Mode' Kode that just turns off recovery on moves for a match.

This game honestly made me question weather or not I was from another timeline. I used to play this game so much as a kid. I brought it everywhere I went and checked the manual so much that mine fell apart. I would be able to make it all the way to Motaro no problem. I tried it years later in college and couldn’t believe how bad it was. And I mean literally couldn’t believe it, I had to research it online because I remembered it being so fun.

That’s the power of how bad this game is. It made me question reality.

So the MK advance AI is basically TAS

you: misinput something vs shao kahn
shao kahn: 🔨🏃🔨🏃🔨🏃🔨🏃🔨🏃🔨🏃🔨🏃

I need to point out that the Choose Your Destiny towers all had the same opponents in the same order and all started with Ermac, yet you fight Scorpion first.

You and Matt weren’t joking about this game.
It really looks like a bad flash version of MK3.

that evaporating health bar fighting shao kahn was great then the revenge was even greater. You definitely are a champ for dealing with this one.

I need to see this game played at EVOs

Took me half the video to figure out the shapeless blob win icons were supposed to be the MK logo. There were pretty GBA games, you know.

I actually told my parents to buy this for me, since I got Tournament Edition before it and at that point in time I would play UMK3 on the MAME all the time, I thought MK Advance would be great because UMK3 is my favorite game in the series, boy was I wrong.

Shao Kahn: "Foolish cyborg. You could never hope to defeat Shao Kahn!"
Sektor: minigun appears out of chest, and procedes to decimate Shao Kahn

10:57 Scorpion has genuinely never styled so hard as that

My mom bought this. One playthrough and I found it in the trash. 😭😭😭 She trashed it right after the Shao fight in the most HORRIBLE fit of gamer rage I've ever seen.

The coffee maker breaking down halfway through development explains a lot lol

8:55 is my new favourite fatality

16:40. I have never in my life seen a health bar evaporate so fast. I have this myself cause i thought naively that a portable mk would be cool. Man was I wrong

This port is like someone with a fever dream describing what umk3 was like
