Y'know, I was originally planning to abandon the Dragon Age franchise entirely after finding out how Veilguard ruined everything, yet... I think between your videos and a recently adopted philosophy of "all games are canon unto themselves and only in the reader's mind do connections to sequels exist", perhaps it's time to reinstall and revisit the original trilogy with fresh eyes.

Sucks how tevinter was sanitized in veilguard.

"Let's not go to Tervinter. It's a spooky place."

I really wish we could had a different team give us the Game that finally showed the Tevinter Imperium, Myself and a Lot of fans had been eagerly awaiting the chance to See Dragon Ages Roman Empire and I think 95% of us were disappointed with what we got.

The Dragon age series also ended for me with Inquisition.

IMO Veilguard should have been about Tevinter finding a Titan and wishing to control it a la Numidium and Solas wanting to use it to unmake the Veil, restoring Elvhen power

The Tevinter Imperium is basically the Eldian Empire from Attack on Titan and the Adrestian Empire from Three Houses. Once powerful nations who are constantly blamed for every major disaster and the people have to suffer for the crimes of their ancestors

It sucks how Tevinter just became evil-topia where literally every single person from Tevinter is a mustache twirling villain. But I imagine it’s also how the irl devs see their irl political opponents; no nuance, no attempt to intellectually engage with their views; just all evil all the time.

Funny enough when you think about it: The Tevinters are responsible for main events of the game happening, You’re given a solid  impression that they’re intended to be the main bad guys of the series.

The blights? Ancient Tevinters did that.

Kirkwall’s instability? Historically once a central Imperium hub for slave trading and blood sacrifices.

The Tear opening Demon invasions in DAI, Ancient Tevinter scheming behind scenes.

If There was a new standalone DA game focusing on Fenris and his merry-band of vigilantes going John brown on the ruling class of Magi fascists like in Blue Wraith comic?,I would pre-order in a instant heartbeat, Shame the soft reboot dropped elf uprising setup from Trespasser, Modern BioWare suddenly got cold feet and don’t have the spine for it.

I wonder what you may think of how Tevinter was presented in the Dragon Age Absolution show.

Tevinter truly is the land of 'Fucking Around And Finding Out'. Blood magic, unleashing the Blight, Corypheus, the Venatori, the never-ending wars... At least they gave us Dorian Pavus. My beloved husband of the impeccable facial hair.

I like Veilguard and I'm still pissed at how dirty they did Minrathous.

The lack of Calpernia (and Barris) in the mage path in Inquisition was arguably the greatest tragedy in the game. I could just personally never justify leaving a foreign power like Tevinter in control of hundreds of mages AND actual time magic directly inside of Fereldens borders, the Inquisition also had no way of knowing at the time that the (not yet red) Templars were in league with Corypheus, and thus had no way of predicting their hostile action. The Venatori on the other hand were a proven threat and wanted the Herald dead, and had possession of a new magical army and WOULD be a problem eventually. It's shameful that I have to make the "wrong" strategic move to get the better antagonist and the greatest Templar who ever lived, the GOAT Ser Barris.

Great video, hope your doing well

Honestly, with as badly as everyone was written in Veilguard, it’s probably good they didn’t bring Calpernia into it. She would have been reduced to two personality traits in a trench coat.

Watching this video made me imagine about a noble tevarani family which adopted the social elements of the qun, just imagine it, the combination of the  absurdy strict cast system with magical superiority and blood sacrificies, it would be dystopian for 2

blood secks magick. the tevinter imperium is the red hot chili peppers first album

Another "Aquire the Templar's" enjoyer I see. In Hushed Whispers is a good quest but... Time Magic gives me a headache (Nothing surronding it makes ANY damn sense) I will take Demons and Eldritch Fade locations anytime. Also I can't really justify subjecting the Templars to Red Lyrium, being brainwashed is bad being turned into 20ft tall Crystal Monster is worse by a far margin (also Dorian's entrace makes more sense than Cole's). Also having access to Anti-Magic when your up against a MAGIC faction is a no brainer.

One of my favorite ttrpg characters was a Tevinter mage whose ship got rocked by the Qunari (to explain why I was there). Everyone treated my like a mustache twirling psycho. Which was unfair, I didn't even use blood magic.

First video I see of this guy and he says he dislikes veilguard almost immediately... subscribing just for that😁😁

Will you take lore from Dragon Age: Vows and Vengeance?
