Mughal emperors crossed the Himalayas every summer to reach one valley, and carved a line into a garden wall calling it paradise on earth. Four centuries later, no two maps of that same valley fully agree. Kashmir is a place of floating vegetable gardens grown on the surface of a lake, four-hundred-year-old fountains still running on gravity alone, and a crocus flower so labour-intensive that a single kilogram of its threads takes roughly one hundred and fifty thousand hand-picked blooms.
In this documentary, discover how the Mughals engineered paradise without pumps, why houseboats appeared on Dal Lake because of a property law, how one saffron farmer has worked the same field since 1947, and how fewer than three hundred hangul deer survive in a single valley outside Srinagar. We trace the valley's history from Sanskrit scholarship and Sufi saints through Partition and the drawing of the Line of Control.
Join us as we explore the valley that outlasted the line drawn through it. Take a breath. Stay a while.

Regrettably I am now 70 years old, and my breathing would suffer because of the altitude it looks like I shall never get to see this most beautiful of places. But my heart tells me that no matter what my heart belongs to Kashmir, and though I may never get there I still belong there. I don't know why or how I have felt like this, but I can honestly say I have wanted to be there for so long.
Thank you for this video it helps me to see what my heart knows.❤❤❤😊😊😊
