Welcome to Brisbane. A gem of a city.

As a local , I can tell you Brisbane has much more to offer than what was shown in this short video. Its very multicultural with lots more food and drink options than were shown here.  Also lots more native plants and animals can be encountered even in the city. Especially our birds , not just the magpies. Also you can travel anywhere in the greater Brisbane area on our bus, train and ferry integrated public transport system for only 50 cents !  I recommend a day trip to Stradbroke Island ( also known as Minjerribah in the language of the Traditional owners , the Quandamooka people )  where you can go surfing on real beaches and spot humpback whales from late May to mid-August during their annual migration from Antarctica. La gente es muy amable ! Bienvenido !

Good video brother, I wasn't aware of the many free to visit places in Brisbane, and I'm born and raised in Queensland!

Travel up to the Whitsundays and see Whitehaven Beach. The sand is pure white and is almost pure silica, so it doesn't get hot. You have to take a day trip on a boat to go there, but you will never regret it. It is regarded as one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Great free things to do in Brisbane - there are a couple of bushland reserves within 4-5km of the CBD where you can readily see Koalas in the wild

As an Australian, it's strange to see the free public barbecues being referred to as "luxury" lol. I guess I know what you mean though.

A trip on the River Cat is worth the 50c fare. See the city from the river. Travel from parkland filled with Moreton Bay fig trees and a huge rose garden up to the University of Queensland. Buy a Go Card and put some money on it so you can tap on and off ferries, buses and trains for public transport.

Qld is the most beautiful part of Australia and so much more around Brisbane Gold Coast and Sunshinen coast

If you feed the magpies they will never swoop you. Only a small percentage of male magpies swoop to protect their nests. All government public transport all over Queensland is now 50 cents per trip, no matter how far as long as it's on the network. You can ride the ferries on teh river for 50 cents as well.

That beach was built because that river in the background is a bit dirty, but more significantly, there are sharks in there! I don't know which country you come from but I know many Colombians in Brisbane who think it is totally safe because compared to their country it is much much safer. However, I did have a Colombian flatmate who went swimming at Eat Street Beach in the evening and had her handbag stolen with her rent money in it, so please don't leave your valuable unattended as there is a (small) chance they will be stolen. In the past two decades, Brisbane's population has grown rapidly and consequently the cost of rent has exploded. This has lead to a big increase in homelessness as many people who previously could afford to live in a small flat on government welfare have been forced into the streets, and most of them gravitate to the CBD. I don't want to say that all the homeless are thieves, because many of them are just lost souls who've fallen through the social safety net, but many of them are there because they are socially dysfunctional and cannot maintain healthy relationships in shared accommodation.
