Starting all the way out in Bristol, I set off on an epic canal and river tour across the South of England. Following the full length of the Kennet & Avon Canal through Bath and Wiltshire into Reading, I then made my way into the Thames Valley—bypassing the busy A4 and steep hills to ride past Windsor Castle, before completing the full loop back home to Rickmansworth via the Grand Union Canal

A few months ago I asked an old guy on a canal boat about that fallen tree (15:12) and he told me it hit a barge that was moored there at 3am and sunk it.
He said he didn't think the owners were on board.
