Shouldn't their name be ugb

Saw in Half would be great in here too, it can be a sac and a clone all in itself really

Convoke spells go crazy in Uugguu clones. After two clones, every single one of them is free, and they include free counterspell, free mass reanimate your clones, free draw X, free put a creature from deck into play, free reanimate, free get a creature every combat, and free heroic intervention. There's a lot of them that just work incredibly well.

Someone was like like what if ratadrabik was sultai and oozy

Whirr of innovation doesn't convoke, it improvises, probably need to take it out...
Might worth including unearth since Ugu is 3 CMC

6:54 wouldn’t you always just be creating non legendary token copies of uugguu instead of clones since the clones were copies of him when they died? Idk if I’m reading C.R. 706.2 and 706.5 right.

I do kind of lose some steam when I see commanders like this that promise something like "Ooze tribal!" but the reality is "Actually it's just clones again, like it was for Big Wan Shi Tong, or Evelyn the Covetous"
Or any commander that wants to support a strategy with +1/+1 counters but instead just supports Persist and a sac outlet.
Mostly it happens when I'm halfway building the deck and I realize that there's an obvious busted thing I could be doing that I don't want to do. But I did have this thought about Uugguu before I have touched the card or even seen this vid. You could still make an ooze tribal deck with Uugguu but it would feel a bit silly to do.

Ookkaay  a few things I'll need to clarify, First of all thank you idodo32 for bringing up that whirr of innovation doesn't convoke, that slot should be chord of calling instead since convoke works so well with uugguu.

MORE IMPORTANTLY. 💥💥💥

Looks like I made a mistake in the video. Initially my endgame involved using muskwood nexus and conspiracy type effects, but during a game i was told that those weren't even necessary. I edited the video last minute after checking with a few friends and a judge.

But it looks like that was wrong again, thanks to AmberFanAccount's comment. So we're going back to the original plan. The secret conspiracy end game.

You drop the enchantment, then drop a clone, now don't copy anything, just let it die as a 0/0 ooze, and then you get to do the mass clone thing. Still crazy fun and worth going for, since the payoff is so massive for a relatively low opportunity cost.

I'm constantly adjusting the decklists as I learn more about this fascinating commander and as I learn of some sick tech from the comments. They do look a bit different than what's in the video now so make sure to reference that if you're planning to build this deck.

May you have all the fun and swarm your opponents with oozes.

2:27 I had to write it out in order to grasp the combo numbers, leaving it in case anyone else would like it spelled out a bit.

Start with Uugguu on the field. Cast FD. Cast clone. Clone enters as Uugguu, OG Uugguu sac'd to legend rule. Clone Uugguu sees OG die, makes 2 nonlegendary tokens, total of 3 on the field. At some point of priority, cast FD on Clone. OG Uugguu re-enters tapped with counter. Clone gets sac'd to legend rule. 3 Uugguus see the clone die, so 6 tokens are made, bringing our total to 9 Uugguus. Clone re-enters and dies to legend rule. 9 see the clone die, so 18 additional tokens are created, leaving us with a total of 27.

dude this is why i love magic <3

Deck list? I love the commander but this is... next level... lol

This deck should be called grey guugguu

Woah I'm super stoked that my first thought is genuinely working, I instantly thought of this when I saw the card, but didn't build it cause I had a friend building uuguu

I love this deck!  I'm a little worried about using "Kindred Discovery" though... I can see a scenario where you create 40 tokens easily and have to draw 40 cards... and now you can't attack with those creatures, because drawing 40 cards would kill you... or somebody wipes the board, now you have to draw 82 cards, so you better have Heroic Intervention already and not playing the budget version. Exsanguiate may be a decent finisher with the massive potential mana you can create, especially for the times when it isn't feasible to attack (opponent has attack stax or a wall of token blockers, w/e).

I love this dude, will buy him day 1. Clones and morphlings, BR2 or low BR3.

A super-cool commander that wasn't on my radar, and a very neat take on it to boot. Great video.

Love this video! I had the same idea when I first read him! Glad to see he’s getting the attention he deserves! Was shocked at how low any recommended clone spells were on EDHRec. When I built him before I actually built him toward an alt win con deck. with lots of type changing stuff, the wins with lillianas contract, epic struggle, and bio visionary actually became pretty realistic! He tends to win on turn 4-6, and people never see it coming

March of the World Ooze might be funky to turn your non-ooze into ooze
And it pumps their PT

really fantastic vid man. I will def give this fella a shot!

Biogenetic ooze, aeve progenitor ooze, mimeoplasm, necrotic ooze, gelatinous cube, and uchuulon are some of my favorite oozes to add with him and add in a few copy cards and recursion. I had like 30+ insanely beefy slimes with only a few of the cards and   I had more than half as my commander uugguu so the exponential growth was insane
