It seems counter intuitive, "ballast no good, powdered graphite good", but I'll give it a shot anyway

I sincerely hope that you never gave that do do that slopped glue and paint all over a Kato x over a full refund. Clearly it was his stupidity that caused the point to not work.

Good advise. I see you have an MRC collectors item. I had one for 30 years until I blew it up on an experiment.
