2:30 I kinda like that Terraria doesn't force a linear item progression line. It has options spread across multiple aspects, some of which you might only ever find on accident. Be it the presence of cobwhip when soulscourge, vasculash and especially Snapthorn exist, or the presence of fish wings and devset wings when you can pretty easily go Fairy, Jetpack/Butterfly, Mothron wings into Fishron/Empress wings, or a bunch of yoyos that are RNG drops from enemies or the Travelling Merchant that you have no reason to go out of the way to farm for, but it can sometimes surprise you by dropping at a point in the game when you could benefit from it. Adds a little bit of a surprise and unique factor to each playthrough.

The combo of Frost armor + Ichor Flask + Catalyst Band with Yoyos is insane; that debuff build is crazy.

7:03 that is indeed how that is supposed to work! If you defeat the EoW or BoC between 12am and 4:30am a meteorite will spawn instantly.

Why in the world do we not have a tinker's combine for ALL the counterweights into something like a "Dicebag" or a "d100". the string + counterweight is an ok stopgap but.. there's ALOT more creative wiggle room here.

Here’s my idea: live wire item.
You make it from wires and a white string. In addition to extending the range of your yo-yo, enemies that touch the wire will take electric damage that equal to around a fourth of the yoyo’s damage.

1:53 another fun fact about these guys (that is far more weird, but makes sense when you think about it), if you have two seperate banners for them, since the other doesn't appear whatsoever, if you use a loom inside ecto mist, you can craft the missing mob's banner with the banners of the mobs you do have. Probably for journey completion without world hopping, but it's a wild feature

I really enjoy his challenge videos, and I love the year long series showing that there's more to do in a world than just fighting and progression, keep up the good work

I like the eye of cthullu (as in the yo-yo)

I've been saying Yoyos should either be a first Summoner subclass or (really fleshed out into) their own class, they are very different from all other Melee weapons. But with Red loving both Melee and Yoyos possibly more than he does CenX, that's probably never gonna happen.

@pingudingu8071 8 days ago

1:30 distance with melee is a godsend in super early game, as its one of the weakest states for melee survivability

The Salamander/Crawdad/Skelly thing is so forgotten, even Drunk Worlds can only have two of those three, while every other thing that works like that has all options available on the Drunk seed.

I usually use yoyos in a "status application" way rather than just dealing damage, combining it with the poison flasks and the pyroclastic thingy gives you a pretty great dps for something like queen bee

27:54 I think that making the bosses drop a special material (like the evil bosses) that you could use to craft the weapon you want could fix that, for example: Duke fishron dropping mutated meat that you could use to craft electric eel, bubble gun etc.

15:00 I think that with the addition of the cobwhip in the early game, and the presence of the queen spider staff, spider staff, and spider armor in hardmode, it would make the most sense to eventually add a hardmode version of the whip crafted from the cobwhip + spider fang to complete the full set of spider gear

Yoyos have some potential to be even better and cooler. Good video!

A tip for cheesing the destroyer with a yoyo is to have some solid blocks in midair so that you can sneak the yoyo through while being protected from lasers from below. The yoyo's reach is just enough that you can hit the Destroyer at the bottom of the screen while staying mostly still.
