Movies and TV today will never be like this.... sigh. Lucky for me, there are plenty of archives for me to prospect for gems like this!

Angie Dickinson at 27. Always liked her acting. Still going at 94 in 2025.

Have a big crush on Angie Dickinson and this episode is watchable at 480i! I watched Mike Hammer with Darren McGavin on late night reruns while I was a kid and love the series!

Darren did the exact same "narrative" and action format in
Kolchac. Worked superb for both genres...❤

Saw an episode of Stacey Keach's version which was not even close to this good. Great scripting, excellent casting. Young Angie is gorgeous of course and Darren McGavin was flawlessly charming and rough but with real gallantry. He sold it a thousand times over and never looked like he was sweating it. So good.

I was very fortunate to find this classic series on DVD (debris cleaned up and looking pristine) before it was sold out. Since I can't find this show streaming, the DVDs are a godsend! 😃
