His game in the VNL right now is so complete.
Blocking, Attacking, Decision Making, Serves, Digs, Hustle. He does everything.

Only at 6"2 and smaller body build, Ran isn't overrated. In fact, he is performing very well considering his height and body limitations. Kudos to Ran!

He is the only player that has played every set of all their games. He was never subbed at any point since they started playing this year. And every game he delivered not just offensively but defensively. At one point he as even digging more balls than their libero AND scoring from attacks and aces. He is the de facto captain right now, while ishikawa is trying to sort himself out.

Ran just lead Japan to a win against USA. If Yuki can get back into form I think Japan has a good chance at a medal this season

The way Ran is playing right now is absolutely insane

Great timing. Ran had an amazing week and maybe the best he's been playing ever? He's definitely being relied on more and has stepped up in every situation. I also love that shot he does where he fakes with his right and does a little push with his left that I've seen in the past year.

With Ran's development, Yuki's playing time can be managed better. No need to rush an injured player. I get nervous when injured players (especially knees) are playing.

I had doubts of Ran's development when he returned to Japan. But it looks like he managed to put it all together right before heading to Poland.

For me, Ran is the best player in the world when you compare all around skills required. Hits, serves, passes. Maybe blocks not as much but still in my opinion he's the most successful.

Edit: the only downside is that he will probably exit his career at age 30 with his vertical jump goes down😢
