Raining Woods Journalling (Giftsmilee Pt. 1/20)

Oak House Journals

Hi Everyone,

in my last video I showed all the goodies I got recently from Giftsmilee, so today I thought I would show how I used some of them in my little green “Raining Woods’ Journal (Isn’t that a lovely name for a notebook?).

Be gentle with me as this is a first for crafting live on camera and also for attempting what I call ‘Oriental journalling” and neither were easy. But we all have to start somewhere, so this is my start. Plus I have some gorgeous bits and pieces to create with, so it’s going to be a fun learning curve.....

If you are not familiar with Giftsmilee, let me explain. Giftsmilee is my favourite stationery shop on Etsy and I have been shopping with them for a wee while now. You will have seen a lot of their products on the decorations I used recently in my Creativity Boxes. I was asked by many of you where I got those items from so I’m happy to share details. The link to Giftsmilee and the products I got recently are below, so you can check them out for yourself.

As always, thank you so much for joining me today and spending time with me.

Hugs C xx

This is up there as one of my favorite videos of yours, Carol, and I thought you did a marvelous job! It was so relaxing watching you collage and the colours and layouts flowed so nicely. I, too, struggle making quick decisions when I craft, so I could totally relate to you on that front. I always marvel at people that collage on the fly and somehow it always works out for them. I often get to a certain point and literally have to walk away and then return later to look at it with fresh eyes; many times that seems to help, but yours turned out beautifully on the first go, without even taking a break for tea :) I look forward to seeing more process videos, as I enjoy watching the process as much as I do the final outcome. Wishing you well over there, my friend. xoxo gg

So beautiful, I love both pages but for different reasons. The first is very pretty, the second is so calming & serene. I think you like the second more because you seemed to relax a little more & it just seemed to flow. I'm hoping you enjoyed it enough to do it again.

Oh Carol - you´re just like me... to decide what will be the best result is not easy 😂 Love the process, please continue to do these type of videos! Hugs from Helen 🤗🇳🇴

Crafting and chatting at the same time.....Very brave Carol. 😃 Loved this little journal and your first couple of pages of collage. I’ve been tempted to try, sadly all but the red book were sold out. My Liverpudlian other half thought that wasn’t a problem but.....red wouldn’t be too forgiving I thought🤣. I like to see planning_jani On Instagram work a page, she makes it look easy 🙄.

You did a GREAT JOB ... hard to believe it's your first try! That first page might not have been exactly what you wanted but I think it looks LOVELY! Had to giggle about the threader ... to be honest, I wouldn't have used it for that teeny-tiny Avril either, handy for 'fat' sari etc though. All up, you did good! I enjoyed listening to your brain cells work! Well done. (Oh yeah, I'm glad you listened to me and removed those 2 dots, ha ha ha ... I told you to a few times, could you hear me?). Thanks for sharing your process.

I’m in awe of the style of crafting and your first attempt is looking brilliant to me. Glad you removed the dots on the first page but the second is just singing to me! I also love your tweezers and clip. So classy can I ask where from? Hugs and smiles and looking forward to your next tutorial. 🌼🦋
