Keep in mind that the character of Cliff Booth is a WW2 veteran and maybe even Korean War vet. He would be someone who faced and survived the worst that war could throw at him hence why he's not afraid of a bunch of hippies.

Saw this in theaters and Brad was absolutely the standout. Wanted much more of him in the movie. Hopefully Pitt gets a few more roles similar to this before he’s too old.

Cliff Booth is what every man hopes they will be when they are on the other side of 50.

It's important to note that when making dominant postures, congruency is most important. If a person were to attempt to appear more dominant than they really are, their blink rate will go up and tension will appear in the voice that exposes their true status.
It's about becoming that guy instead of impersonating him

Tbh, it just seems like he’s completely self involved and having fun. Also a man who has spent so much time with his purpose that it’s internalized in his personality.

It’s insane to watch under analysis. Brad’s flawless. I’m floored.

Amazing video, and there´s no doubt Pitt was deserving of that Oscar. His body language and screen presence is just oustanding in that film. He was a mix between Steve McQueen, Robert Redford and Burt Reynolds.

I mean it’s Brad Pitt... he’s just THAT guy no matter what

Woah after watching this, I can't question that Oscar win! Great analysis man!

Cliff Booth striding through Spahn Ranch is like a male lion  in his prime walking by a bunch of half-starved jackals.

I think the one time Cliff was actually surprised by something was when Pussycat asked if he wanted to have sex

I think unreactivness is so attractive because it shows that you can really deal with anything and that is a strong peoples trait

This guy is absolutely right and An Ear for Men has said the same thing. When a woman starts giving you unreasonable BS and they threaten to leave you tell them to go. Or if you give them an ultimatum that you will leave (or for them to leave) fully expect to make good on the threat and except that they will be gone. It's not a sure fire win every time, but under most circumstances it will make them pause and switch gears. And if they do go, then you're better off (though it may not seem that way at the time).

For example (and this is not to illustrate how cool I am, but to underscore my point) A GF of mine in the early 2000s starting throwing a tantrum in the middle of a grocery store. We were there to pick up picnic stuff because we were going to a small town to enjoy their park and have a nice outside lunch. I don't remember what the argument started over, but it was stupid. She started getting loud and begun to cry, which of course would attract all kinds of negative attention. So I just leaned in and told her "I'm not doing this in the middle of the store. I'm leaving, and if you're not at the car by the time I get there I'm leaving you behind." I remember she gave me a super dirty look and asked what she was supposed to do if I left her there, and I told her flat out "Not my problem" and turned around and walked out, not bothering to look over my shoulder as I made my way back to my car. As I drew near it I heard her running behind me. She got in and we proceeded to the next town over. She never started BS in a store again after that.

The Academy two years ago: Brad Pitt is a fine actor who has won  won multiple awards, though it is unlikely he'll ever win an Oscar.

Cliff Booth: I think his performance in this film says something different.

Interesting approach from a great character of a great movie. There are a lot of unconscious body positions that we tend to forget that actually have an impact around us. Thank you for this knowledge!

I liked how quickly and easily he got to his feet after being knocked down by Bruce, which seemed in itself a deliberate choice.

When I saw this in theaters I remember thinking, "If Brad Pitt wasn't already cool enough & what a badass he is in this movie".

You should do bane. After years of paying attention to body language in films, bane from the dark knight rises has some of the best, dominant body language. That is why Nolan said he chose hardy for the film, for his ability to act purely by body language

Your body language contents are the best!

I dont know who said it originally.
