The other day I came across a comment that blew my mind about how interesting it was that the movie had a side plot of Bryan becoming a family guy. At the beginning of the movie he's on the fence of wanting to raise a child and basically start a family, only to be chased by an amalgamation zombie, in other words, a "family" of sorts. Then, Bryan gets bitten by a child he refused to kill, alluding to the abortion he was contemplating about with his girlfriend. Later he comes to terms later that he actually wants to start a family and in the end he gets just that, sort of, by becoming a "family" with all the other scientists with him being the “father” since he’s the main body and the one that infected and absorbed them.

55:03 there’s a acid vomit zombies in resident evil 1. If a zombie catches you on the stairs in the mansion it’ll throw up on you instead of grab because they can’t grab on stairs

I really liked the ending. In general I like tragic endings but also for this character specifically I think it makes sense that he couldn't survive this kind of situation. And for me the comedic elements of that scene not only didn't detract from the heartbreak but it some ways amplified it. Bryan begging for help while the scientist ignore and dehumanize him was really really sad.

I personally like the more nihilistic ending for Bryan, since his story does fit that of a fallen side character. I will agree the humor injected into the ending does detract from the emotional weight.

I knew I was going to be walking into an Evil Dead movie with sprinkles of Resident Evil and I was NOT disappointed.

the popcorn bag earned a showcase spot ✨ i got the last one from my local theater and felt like i won the lottery lmao

Miss March is so underrated, so funny.  Craig Robinson as Horsedick.MPEG is comedy gold.  I find it hilarious that both Pokemon and Resident Evil are 30, two different sides of the spectrum.  I definitely enjoy the first 3 OG Resident Evil films a lot, and then even Welcome to Raccoon City was alright, such a great cast in that one.

0:44 I'm zoran" beret " gvoich 😅😅

You guys spoil me with such great content just when i need it, love you guys.

“He got a lot of flack for it, why do you think that is?”

Ad starts playing.

“They threw me, into hell.”

I called that immediately 😂, as soon as I saw Jean in a clip, immediately replayed the big head parody Spider-Man video in my head. For years the phrase " my name's just Jean " pops in my head randomly 🤣🤣😆😆

Saw the movie last night and I managed to avoid spoilers for a whole week just for Bryan’s ending to get spoiled less than four hours before my showtime. Great movie! Wasn’t expecting him to have the same kind of end so many other side characters in RE do, but I hope he shows up as the antagonist of a sequel

4:54 the excitement i would feel if i got to see a zoran tremors film. woah.

My boy Jeremy.  Good to see a friend on YouTube lol

I feel like I’m in the minority of thinking the ending was good. It made sense given the entire movie up to that point. It ended the way I thought it would. It was good!

I think it is the T-Virus, just that the T stands for "That's not the T-Virus"

Jeremy Pryer is an RE GOAT fan, crazy.!

I personally loved the scientists being incompetent. I always felt this is how they would be after reading the lore notes in the games. “We merged Bee and Shark DNA to make flying sharks with stingers!, and it somehow escaped.”

The book reference is Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian, where the character of the judge is white and fleshy and huge and basically the embodiment of evil

I got 10 minutes left in this video (so maybe you talk more on this), but I have to say, im a little disappointed by the conversation on failing to adapt the games. If you look at it as a 1:1 adaptation, you're absolutely right, but Zach openly said it was never going to be that. On the other hand, having played nearly every Resident Evil, this movie manages to mimic the tropes and journey you get when you play the games. Watching the movie as a "This is alternate timeline Resident Evil: The Game: The Movie" is a much better way to enjoy the film. I will admit, the virus took me out of it first go around, and ending didn't land with me, but taking a step back and then thinking "oh, we (as Bryan) were just another background character in a city filled with people who just had the worst day of their lives...that's pretty cool to see his story." As if we were watching the notes as they were laid down for our 'hero character' to find on their journey.

If anything, Bryan recording a note should have been the biggest tell of "he isn't going to make it" with that in mind.
