For the rareware coin, to get it easier, just don't get in the rocket on the first level, just continue to collect points after fueling. It makes it so much easier. The bubbles and fuzz are so hard

The DK arcade golden banana and Nintendo coin were the bane of my existence for many years, it wasn’t until mid 20s that I finally beat it and got both the banana and the coin.

Really wild how hard so many things in this game were lol

@catholiccontriversy 8 days ago

Nintendo coin is harder the 2nd time because you're playing the second loop which is much harder.

One that didn't make the list that I struggled with....the DK barrel blast in crystal caves. Most are pretty routine, that one is not.

@zachwiglusz7342 7 days ago

its easier knowing in the final stage of dk arcade
you can just walk over those golden things not jump

@Barrie96 8 days ago

Nice list. I’d personally put out Chunky Minecart and Jetpac and put in Forest Rabbit Race and Dogadon 2

Love this game back in the day. So much to do for the price.

With number 9, the people who made the dk64randomizer added a DK barrel to his igloo so you'd have access to Strong Kong for it if unlocked... XD

the rareware races are notoriously difficult because people either don't know or care about the rubberbanding mechanics that plagued the n64 era

think mario kart the canary mary races etc those races are intended to be near unbeatable by dumb kids who try to go as fast as possible

the rubber band mechanic associated with those races actively punishes you for being in the lead

both the beetle races and the canary mary races (banjo tooie) are easily winnable if you stay behind them for the majority of the race only speeding up to overtake them close to the finish line

Think I get most of your list , but dang, Minecart Mayhem is so easy when you know how to do it:
You just need to put yourself on the outside line, wait for both carts to go to the same line, then go inside one line.
When both go inside to your line, go outside again. Key is to do it pretty slow, and that's it.

1:42 The name of that arena is hinting both the Kasplat enemies who use shockwaves to attack and that player should also use their own shockwave attack (which is done by holding the B button and releasing it when the Kong starts to glow).😉

Gift 1999 -> 100% 2003
Harder than my degree.

Spike maze my beloathed
Thank you for including it
Strange to see the beetle races but not the rabbit. I always saw them as equal

@IcelosPhobetor 9 days ago

I found out from watching someone do a 101% run of that maze, which takes off a whole watermelon of health, that if you play the bongos, the maze "dies" and stops moving; however, it may only work on the actual cartridge because I tried the same trick using an emulator and the maze still moved, but you can try it and see what it does for you.

Chat do we tell him about the DK barrel in the Igloo?

@keyamazed1038 5 days ago (edited)

The beetle race is easy once you realize that the rubberbanding means it'll never get too far ahead of you if you go at a decent pace. Just focus on collecting coins and when you reach the last stretch Lanky is naturally faster so you can just run forward and leave them in the dust.

Tiny's race was much harder. F that so hard.

Beaver bother and the DK Arcade game I'll give you, but the other 8 are literally just skill issues. Better reflexes get you through the blast-o-matic and Chunky's minecart, while better planning gets you through the minecart mayhem games. As for the slides, that's just a matter of practice. The rotating spike maze can be beaten by taking it slow and being patient. Don't rush to the center. Somebody else already explained the rareware coin game. The 201st golden banana definitely shouldn't be considered hard (except for the banana fairy in the Forest lobby).
