It was 50 years ago on Oct. 6, 1976, when the Cleveland Barons began their short-lived journey in the NHL. The Sports Desk with Mike, Mark and Kyle is excited to be joined by Ohio author Gary Webster, who literally wrote the book on the Barons (it's called The NHL's Mistake By the Lake: A History of the Cleveland Barons. Gary tells the story of the Barons — how they came to Cleveland, of how they struggled in northeast Ohio and their eventual merger with the Minnesota North Stars — and also offers a few thoughts about how and where the Barons' DNA still lives on in the NHL. So dig in!
