To all of them who lost their lives to AIDS, men, women, elderly, babies and children: you are not forgotten. You matter. You are loved. Rest in peace.

It’s 2025, there seems to be little awareness to the general population that AIDs and HIV is a huge problem to this day.

This documentary was made only 5 years before antiretroviral drugs came on the scene. So sad that these people died such a short time away from the life-changing and life-saving drugs.

My former neighbor was infected by donated blood in 1986. Then in the early 2000s he was notified that he had again received infected blood, this time with HIV and Hep C. He has hemophilia so he requires blood injections. He’s still alive and is now undetectable (after developing full blown AIDS) and went on to have 2 children, both HIV negative. It’s amazing that he survived the 10 years after diagnosis and before the “cocktail” was available. RIP to all who didn’t make it 🙏

I lost an aunt to this dreadful disease in the year 2000, this documentary is a solid reminder of how far we have come and we shouldn’t forget those we have lost and the fact that the battle is not yet over, we should continue to fight till we find a cure.

Thank you so much for this documentary.

Such SCARY SCARY times!!! I was only in Junior High in 1990, but it scared me to death!

It’s getting worse. People are less committed, little to no morals and don’t take STDs seriously

Rip Jody and Tony Rodriguez . She passed in 1994

R.I.P. to everyone in this documentary

Hello from Veracruz,  Mexico. In 1984 I was in first grade in middle school when we heard for the very first time about this deadly disease. My schoolmates used to play telling each other, "Go over there, I do not want to catch AIDS. I was barely 11 years old. In 2000 I lost 2 friends because of AIDS. Actually I am 54 years old. Time goes so fast.:hand-pink-waving::face-blue-smiling:.

Glad for the advancement in medicines they now have for HIV treatment and prevention

As someone who lives in a country with the most rates of HIV in the world this documentary absolutely terrifies me

My best friend died in May 1995. He deteriorated so quickly that I was just in shock when he finally passed. He was barely a week out of the hospital, at that point it was clear he would not be returning to his job so we were making plans for his long term care when he just started going down hill.
AIDS at that time was still spoken about in hushed tones in the gay community.
When you didn’t see someone at the club or gay hangouts you’d hear they passed away, sometimes when you didn’t see someone you’d just assume the worst.
I came out in 1991 when the gay community was bombarded with safe sex ads and gay porn actors wore condoms.
Last summer I visited what used to be a gay hangout and saw a familiar face, one of the gay men I’d see out and about back then but never spoke to. We just hugged when we saw each other because it seems all those men we knew back then are now gone. We were there, we survived and will never forget.

I love seeing the compassion from the nurses and doctors. Examples throughout but this guy at 19:30 explaining why he is wearing a mask (not directly because of the HIV) was handled really well with compassion and understanding in his voice.

She’s an absolute gem🙏🏿 The incredible love and strength she must of had to stay with  man that compromised her health is unimaginable........I would have taken my children and left👌

11:49 what a woman!!! Her husband infected her and basically ruined her life, (im assuming that he was cheating) and she still is taking care of hum and doesnt seem hostile whatsoever. 😮😮i dont think i would have reacted that way

Jody died in 1994 at age 38 . her husband died before she did.

I was born in 77  I remember my grandmother talking about new disease killing people, I remember first hearing about it in school in 86, 9 of my friend's mothers died(makes me greatful for my parents never got caught up in that) , 2 of my uncle's friends. My wife's mother 30 years ago, Glad this documentaries are around to remind us. It's not dead yet.

In the 80s I worked in the restaurant business, many gay men worked in the business and all of men I worked with died from AIDS. They were so promiscuous.

Pray for those still infected 🙏
