Not picking out someone after the incident but then picking him out 7 years later is extremely strange

Gotta pay 30 grand for the court transcript to make an appeal . Sounds like a racket

Really wish there was more info from the prosecution presented in this.

What we can tell from this is that the men knew each other, one was called to a pub because the other was demanding he go there, then one walks away having been stabbed in the chest.

Then the other man flees the country. :/

There were 3 witnesses (only briefly mentioned once in this I think?) but I don’t know what other evidence there was. Enough that a jury decided beyond reasonable doubt that Jason did this vs his friend. And it sounded like the judge was convinced too.

Beyond reasonable doubt is a really high bar and I just feel we’re missing a lot of info here tbh. The brother claimed he was innocent but as far as I can tell his only reasoning was because this guy was too weak compared to his brother? There’s just not great info for why they’re convinced of his innocence nor why the jury was convinced of his guilt.

The fact that they seem to only give the defences account here makes me highly suspicious tbh.

Fantastic documentary series of injustices.

Went your guilty you need a solicitor
When your innocent you REALLY need a solicitor
Never speak to police they will make you fit somehow they want convictions regardless of guilt

Never say "maybe" or "I might have done", even if you wish to be honest in that situation; always say you don't know if you are unsure. An admission is not what you think; it is not necessarily an explicit confession, "I did the thing"; it can be any statement that supports the idea of you doing something, whether you intended it or not.

Jason’s Sister is 100% salt of the earth. I am very lucky to have a sister very much the same as her.

@bereal6590 3 months ago (edited)

So the friend said they had a few dates, the sister said he just knew the woman(which is it). Then the sister says they'd had dinner sometime. Jason sounds like a player, a charmer and clearly a gambler who hit it big, not because he is good at maths! Someone stabbed the guy, Robert was p*ssed and unhinged and acting threatening, two cars, four men. Now I find it very difficult to believe that Jason didn't see what happened with his friend and Robert, nor do I believe Roberts friend was asleep. Seems that Jason's friend stabbed Robert and both men ran. The normal reaction would have been to call the police and explain it was self defence. The way the friend and sister explain it you'd think Robert stabbed himself 🤦. Ahmed seems a credible witness but then identifying someone is notoriously difficult. However he saw the car and a man gets out, only two options Jason or the friend.

Fresh evidence? Quite simple really, either Jason gives evidence that it was his friend that did it, or his friend admits to doing it. Then Jason goes free.

I know what it's like to face a jury, it's terrifying.i walked out a innocent man because I was. It only hit me weeks later that this jury held my faith in their hands. I value my freedom.

@VioletSummers-v8r 2 months ago

idk man, fleeing doesn’t scream innocent

Destroyed by too many adverts!!!!!

This is a very one sided account. For a start, what did Jason do for a living ? His “friend” and his sister are hardly impartial witnesses but we only hear their version.

The Valentine is long gone, knocked down for flats.
