He literally became the dark type symbol

The way it looks, not just like an eyeball, but like an eyeball that's been torn from its socket, nerves and all, is the kind of horrifying imagery I did not expect from a Pokémon game in a million years

Team lead: “this is a short dlc, and it features Darkrai”

Cutscene Animators: “Gotta make it aura farm like no other”

@robbymanable 9 months ago

I never could have predicted biblically accurate Darkrai as it’s Mega

@alvaroperez2349 9 months ago (edited)

Darkrai straight up became a Kirby Final Boss…

Mega Darkrai is one of those "God why didn't I think of that" designs, mainly because I never expected Pokémon of all franchises to go down that road like, ever.

Everyone: Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

I love how everyone's reaction is just visceral disgust in the best way possible lol.
You wanted nightmares? You're GETTING nightmares.

Bro is built like black doom's eye.

"Shadow... Come with me. Steal candy from babies and small businesses."

What i love is that although Darkrai is the "Nightmare Pokémon", it's not inherently evil, outright begging us to stay away because it doesn't want to hurt us. Also, it's surprising that, being able to interact with people's minds, Darkrai can use that to directly talk to people

You just know if this game had a slightly higher age rating Darkrai’s head coming out of the eye would be a lot more grotesque looking

Edit: speaking of grotesque I love how in its eye form when it twists its “legs” together it literally becomes a floating eye complete with an exposed ocular nerve and veins

@jacobkohr7243 9 months ago

I for one welcome the kirbification of Pokemon bosses.

@onyxsylvian 9 months ago

I love that they brought back Darkrai's legs like in his movie ending. 10/10 reference

@Miguelaaron 9 months ago

Gotta love that almost everybody agrees that he just goes straight into Kirby boss mode. More that Zero-Two, it looks like Dark Matter

@Jahames_852 9 months ago (edited)

I love that you can see MandJTV's two VERY distinct reactions to Darkrai 😭

Shock of the cool Eldritch eyeball, and then ABSOLUTE REPULSION when Darkrai peeked out of the pupil

What I like so much about Mega Darkrai's design is that it lives up to its category of the NIGHTMARE Pokémon; it's so bizarre and beautiful at the same time.
